New to Lawrenceville Area, Need Ob/gyn

My family recently moved to the area, and I need an ob/gyn, preferrably one with a smaller practice who respects and promotes natural childbirth without interventions. My first labor was with an on-call doctor who kept pushing the epidural and threatening C-section. I think I'd really like an ob/gyn who also has a midwife as part of the practice. Thank you!

So What Happened?

Thank you, everyone, for your responses! I, actually, got pregnant a little sooner than planned, and my husband and I are expecting our second child at the end of August. I decided to go with Maternal Gynerations after reading so many of your recommendations and finding out one of my friends used the midwife Kim. I am using the midwives right now, so we'll see who is on call when I deliver! So far, I have loved going to this practice. Thanks, again!

My midwife Roxanne has delivered all 3 of my girls. She's wonderful! She works out of Lawrenceville OBGYN with Dr Gregory Fountain(who is also wonderful-he helped with delivering my preemie), located right outside Gwinnett Medical. There is also 1 other midwife and doctor. The # is ###-###-####.

I've also heard great things about Maternal Generations, although they are a much larger practice!

I go to Maternial Generations and see Dr. Hood. It is a pretty big practice, but they do have a team of Midwives that are awesome. I had problems getting pregnant and Dr. Hood made it happen. Then after getting pregnant I went with the Midwives to deliever. It was an awesome experience!!! They are in Lawrenceville right around the corner from Gwinnett Medical. Their number is ###-###-####. I highly recommend them!

I don't know of any in Lawrenceville, but North Pointe ob/gyn in Alpharetta has four midwifes in their group. They may be able to refer you to someone in your area. Also I am a Doula if you are thinking about having a labor assistant to help you through your labor. Check out CAPPA.NET under Doulas. Good Luck, D.

I can tell you I had a horrible experience with my first delivery. DO NOT GO TO EMORY EASTSIDE FOR ANYTHING....HINT
My 2 best friends delivered with Roswell OBGYN. They deliver @ Northside and promote midwives. I now go to that practice, and I have NEVER had a better experience. I almost want to get pregnant just so I can experience the beauty of delivery the way they try to make it for you. They are not far from Duluth, the drive is way worth it!!!

MATERNAL GYNERATIONS in Lawrenceveille!!! I noticed someone else reommended them too.
I delivered completely naturally last February with midwife Jill. It was a wonderful experience. She notified all of the nurses that I was not to be offered any interventions...I had to ask if I wanted anything. I made it through the tough pain with Jill's encouragement.
