My daughter is 23lbs and almost 2. We need to buy a second car seat and I'm not thrilled with the one we have. I'd like to be able to have a recline feature and be able to easily adjust the strap at her groin - the one we have seems really low and is not adjustable.

I think the Britax is the only way to go! I personally like the Marathon but there are several. We paid a lot for our first one at Babie's R Us, but when it became a pain and we wanted an extra, we bought the same one online no tax, free shipping and about $100 less. So shop around.

I used this website to make my decision when I needed carseats for my little ones. It was so helpful! If you watch the video, be prepared for the tears. It's really a wonderful thing this family is doing, in spite of their loss.

The American Association of Pediatrics has a great website that includes lot of research about everything from health to safety...check it out before you buy. Also, I have a Cosco Alpha Omega elite which my son likes.

Convertible:
Britax Boulevard or I really love the First Years True Fit, but the adjust lever/strap is kinda low and may be hard to reach RFing.

FFing only: Graco Nautilus--no recline, but the straps adjust so smoothly

I don't know of any FFing reclining seats.
