Need Swimsuit Recommendation for Actual Swimming (As in Laps) - plus Size

Hi mamas - I do a couple of small triathlons a year, which means that I swim laps for training many months of the year. I need a swimsuit that is built for actual swimming - something with a high neckline, that I won't tug on, that can withstand chlorine and salt. Despite all of the time I spend working out, I'm still a size 16. Many of the athletic-style suits (like Speedo) have too much exposure on the back (no one needs to show back flab).

Are there any avid swimmers who can recommend a good brand/style? Land's End makes a suit that looks like it's designed for school or swim uniforms, but in women's sizes. It's about $30, which is half the price of their other suits. Has anyone worn one of those (or has your child) and did it fit well and withstand wear?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I love Lands End's swimsuits and now buy all of mine from there. They usually have product reviews on their website that talk about the fit, whether they recommend it, etc., and those tend to steer me in the right direction.

There are TONS of suits here - a few I think could work but who knows.

I think this has a nice high neckline and back but may have too much room for drag

I really like this one, but you may not like the back

Good Luck.

Try Athleta. The stuff is pricey, but it seems like its meant for seriously sporty people.

I swim and wear the Lands End Grecian (I think) suit. It's good for a big bust, holds everything in, and is hardy. I have three of them. They come in plus sizes.

I'm a lot more plus sized than you, but I LOVE the swimsuits from Junonia.com

And the smaller plus sizes like you are often the last ones to sell out so you might get some VERY good bargains in their clearance...

I don't have advice about that particular suit, but I'd say go ahead and order it. Land's End has GREAT customer service, but they typically have a very generous return policy, and I'm pretty sure they'll let you return it if it isn't what you want. You can also return to any Sear's store, so you don't have to deal with shipping it back. Call customer service to be sure this policy hasn't changed over the years.
