Need NARROW Athletic Footwear for 15 Year Old Boy

I've struggled to find stylish athletic footwear for my son's narrow feet. Had to finally enlist the help of Mamapedia. If I shop retail, it's hit and miss, usually miss so I've been forced over the years to go directly to websites of the major athletic shoe manufacturers. Just went on Nike and found 3, 3 on the entire website. Same 3 that have been there for years. This is ridiculous. Does anyone have any ideas? This seems to be my story no matter what site I go to. Either that or they are "old people" shoes. Need stylish, narrow, athletic footwear for teenagers. End of rant... :) Thanks everyone!! Oh, forgot to mention, he wears orthotics too!! I've tried Zappos and he hasn't liked the narrow selections.

What can I do next?

I'll assume Brooks and New Balance are "old people shoes"?! Lol
In our experience, Nike tends to run narrower than others. You're looking for a men's "B" width. Try Zappos?

I am not sure if this will help or not, but I feel I have a narrow heel. I used to wear the Dr Scholls gel wedges to lift my heel and give a tighter fit. When I went to a running shoe store to be fitted they recommended Superfeet inserts and then showed me a way to tie my shoes to cinch the heel. I actually found a video demonstrating it online. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0BSXa8vE10

I'm wondering if this would give your son's narrow fit a comfortable fit in a regular width shoe. Maybe try it out at the local shoe store.

My son and I both have narrow feet so I feel your pain. We both love Ecco. I am not sure if they carry athletic shoes or not, but they fit me like a dream.Pricey but worth it and you might have an outlet near you.

Nike and underarmour "regular" shoes are notoriously narrow. Most people have to buy them in wide. Have you tried them on, or just assume you need narrow in those brands?

Have you tried Zappos.com? They usually have a pretty good selection of stuff.

We have the opposite problem. Wide feet with some of ours. Ours can't wear Nikes, etc.

But if you go to Zappos like others have suggested, you can select Narrow width choices: They have Nikes, New Balance, Brooks, etc.

Good luck :)

Brooks? Maybe Under Armour?

I agree with the others - Zappo's is AWESOME and they are so great to work with...if it exists, it should be on that site.

How about some "manly" looking women's shoes?

Try googling for specialty footwear, particularly for runners, in your area. My daughter has feet problems and custom orthotics, and we have found suitable shoes and great advice and a good selection of sizes/widths at places that outfit the serious runner (even though my daughter is NOT a serious runner or even a casual runner). Just type in something like running shoes or running club supplies. Or ask whomever supplied his orthotics for their suggestions for places to buy shoes, or look for places that sell orthotics, because they often sell good shoes too.
