I did a puppy theme and it was so fun, it was for my daughter's first birthday. How old will she be? That would depend on what I could suggest for games, etc. I did a whole themed lunch though with hot dogs, of course, and I made a dog bone shaped jello mold and did cookies and brownies in the shape of dog bones. I also had the cupcakes decorated like little dog faces, they were adorable! Oriental Trading Co has cute dog noses, although I was kind of disappointed in those, but they have dog ear headbands that are way cute! The kids looked really cute in those! If your daughter is going to be older (like 3-6) you could string necklaces (like a dog collar) with fun beads, etc. and put a pendant with each girls' name in the center. THat would be a fun craft plus a good take-home gift. You could also hide milkbones in the yard and have the kids do a scavenger hunt for them and whoever has the most gets a prize (if you don't have a dog maybe donate them to a neighbor who does when you're through!). You could also get some stuffed dogs, or have the kids bring one with them and do a dog show of sorts, see if they can get their dogs to do some "tricks" and put on a little show. You wouldn't have to do too many activities between cake and presents, but those are a few themey ideas!
