Hello, my 7 year old son has a boy scout meeting tonight, and he needs to bring a decoration that "celebrates his life". Also, as a bonus he should make up a game to play with the other kids that celebrates their lives. The game is not required, just the craft. Of course, I procrastinated to the last minute. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Hi C., If it is a craft to celebrate his life, it sounds like maybe a collage/bullitin board with photos from each year since he was born or something like that. Sorry, that's all I can think of. Good luck! :)

In our pack, we made shields. The shield was divided into 4 sections and then decorated. We too were busy, so we cut out pictures and printed photos off of the computer. We added what he has done, what he liked and family history.

Hello! You could always build a tree of life by using rolled crumpled garbage bags put together as the trunk. Have them roll out at the bottom to represent the roots and then tie, tape, or glue all of the rolls put together at the top of the tree. Then add the leafy top using construction paper or regular paper colored on with crayon or marker and cut out different size leaves. You could also write different events in your life to represent events that have happened to you personally or just events to represent life like air, sleep, home, family, food. Also as an additive, you could also add a black oval to represent a hole in the tree and an animal such as a bird or a squirrel at the hole appearing to be entering or even waving to represent your son who lives in the tree of life. It is fairly simple if you can swing by a grocery store for some bags. Good luck I hope the idea helps.

I agree with Bev. Use pics from his life and then maybe leave room for him to draw pictures around them of things he likes. Like animals, sports , his family and himself, even write resteraunt names he likes in markers. Forget the game , it might be too late for that. I hope this helps!!
