Need an Idea for a Gift

My BIL started dating someone about 6 months ago. We've only met the new boyfriend once, at Thanksgiving. He seems really nice, but I barely had a chance to get to know him. (My kids love him, so I'm sure I will, too.) I really don't know much about him, other than he's a former hair dresser and now he's helping my BIL run his restaurant.

What the heck am I supposed to get him for Christmas?

I don't mean to sound too materialistic. I'd just want him to feel included at Christmas, and show our support and desire to get to know him better.

Any ideas?

What can I do next?

For any 'first christmas' relationship here, I always make a personalized stocking...you can even buy one and use glitter glue to put the name on. Then fill it with little gifts (cologne...lip balm...candies etc).

It is personalized...yet not TOO personal.

Best Luck!!

Definitely make him feel included, you are a good person to think of that. Ask your brother in law what he likes! Get him something thoughtful.

Winter gloves and scarf. Tickets to a movie or play. Board game. The same kind of gift you would get for any girl friend / boyfriend.

Gift cards are always appreciated. Maybe find a restaurant in their area that they've been wanting to try and give them a g.c. so they can go out for a nice meal. If you put some thought into where you buy the g.c., it will feel more personal than a generic one to target, amazon, etc.

See if you can find out things that he and your BIL like to do together. Maybe you could get them tickets to a show at a local theater, a basketball game, or a local movie theater + popcorn and candy.

Maybe an Amazon gift card? It doesn't have to be much. After all, it's the thought that counts!

How nice of you to want to do that.

A stocking w/his name on it (use iron-on letters). Fill with beef jerky, gum, chocolates & add a 6pack of his favorite beer.

Bottle of wine if he drinks wine & masculine metal wine cork.

Talk to BIL.
I am a coffee fein but I really do not like Starbucks. Their coffee to me tastes bitter and burned and is way overpriced, I'm insulted that shops like theirs think I am stupid enough to pay as much or more for a cup of coffee as I could pay for a whold pound of grounds and make my own. but that's me. The boyfriend may be a tea drinker anyway.
A bottle of wine is good if they drink wine.
You could also get each of them a dress shirt and tie in matching but opposite colors ie: a grey shirt and blue tie for one and a blue shirt and grey tie for the other.
If they boyfriend is going to be included in your holiday celebrations then he should receive a gift.

Find something personalized, like a stocking or bowl, fill it with his favorite snack (ask your BIL) and/or gift card, and write him a card saying you're glad he could come spend time with your family.

You could ask your BIL what type of cologne his boyfriend wears, and find a gift set that includes it...

Maybe one of those 'cookie/brownie in a jar' mix things.

A summer sausage gift set. (I have never met a man who doesn't love those... Lol.)

Goofy Christmas sweater and a gift card.
