Need a Good Family Dentist in the HEB Area

My husband and I are looking for a new family dentist. We are TX transplants; we have been in the area for about 4 years and found good dentists are hard to find! We live 50+ miles north west from where we work (HEB area). We started seeing a dentist in Irving but he is not within our commute nor are we happy with him. He crowned one of my husband's teeth and he was disappointed with him. The temporary had to be replaced twice! It seemed every time we turned around, there was another appointment needed; another charge and he was very difficult to schedule with. I went for a check up and cleaning (I have never had a cavity!). I thought it was bizarre that this could not be accomplished in one visit. After the initial check up (supposedly finding 12 cavities), I set up an appointment for a second visit (which was suppose to be the cleaning). They had removed me from the books even though they called me to remind me of the appointment the day before and I confirmed! They tried to charge me too! They even asked me to come back. His staff was very young and inexperienced. I am looking for a good, trusted, experienced dentist that is not in it just for the money.

What can I do next?

Access Dental on main street in Saginaw. They were great. My son came for a visit and had not been to a dentist for years. He had a tooth ache. I only have Saturdays to go. We went to one down on Boat Club Road the one with the sail boat. Expensive and after about three hours there, they only did a X-Ray on three teeth and charged me $67 and said that he needed a root canal and would have to have a temporary then go to someone one else for more money when he got to Seattle. It was a huge amount of money. I was so mad that they took up our time he was here and left. I went back to Access to see if they could take him as a walk in. They told me if he needed a root canal it would be about $1600 not $2500 as The other one. Well we prayed and he needed 4 fillings. They cleaned and did the cleaning and 4 fillings, a complete X-Ray, and he did not need a root canal. It cost me $539 in full. I feel we were lucky and after that other dentist gave him pain pills and a prescription and sent us off with another more powerful prescription I never filled. After Access was done he did not have any more pain, all was done and no prescriptions for pain. They have state of the art equipment as well. I have heard a lot of horror stories about dentists ever since I have been in Tx. I had a crown done by someone off Rufe Snow and Western Center and Access said they did a good job. It was about 4-5 yrs ago and held. I need to replace it but not in a hurry to. They are not open on Saturdays and do not speak English real well. Access Number is

I have a great dentist, but not in the HEB area. It is in Keller. My family and I have been going to Keller Family Dental for several years now and have had excellent care. The office staff is great, I love the hygenist, and the dentist that I see is Dr. Corley (he is awesome too). I have also heard nothing but good things about his partner, Dr. Lauck. They are building a new office, and the name is going to change to Blue Stone Dental. Here is their information. Good luck!

I HIGHLY recommend Dr Doan Bui with Family Tree Dentistry. I had a lot of dental need when I first went to see her and we've tackled a lot of it now. She is very gentle and knows her work well. I took my girls and she and the hygenist were SO good with them:). My girls, 2 and 4, absolutely loved seeing them and they really enjoyed the whole visit. Call ###-###-#### and feel free to tell them Loni Proctor referred you:).
They are in North Richland Hills right next to the Target and Walmart on Precinct Line and North Tarrant Parkway. They're across the street and just a little south on Precinct Line.

I do want to add, however, don't go to Brookshire Dental on Precinct across from the other Walmart near that construction in Hurst. Also a very inexperienced staff, though the doctor was good 4 years ago when I went. The staff overcharged me though my insurance was supposed to cover 100% of preventative (they said it was only 80% and took BOTH payments from me and my insurance). I was NOT a happy camper and they said too bad. If I knew then what I know now, right? Anyway, don't go there, but Dr Bui is great. My in-laws have also seen her for some minor work and were VERY impressed in comparison to another they'd seen.
