Hi all. I'm moving to Landisville in January and will be 6 mos pregnant. I'd like to deliver at Lancaster General Women's and Babies Hospital as it's just up the road from where I'll be living. Can anyone recommend a good doc or midwife? I've been told that May Grant is a good practice. Has anyone gone there? Any experiences you've had would be VERY helpful. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi there! This is my first response! Anyway, I went to May Grant (and still do)! I would recommend Dr. Krespan,(male) Dr. Habecker (male) or Dr. Roberts (female). The midwives are also wonderful from what I have heard, but I can't recommend them because I saw only doctors due to my age at pregnancy. (I was 37 and this was my choice) Dr. Yingling was the doctor that delivered my son- who was premature by 5 weeks and breech so I had to have a C-section! He was awesome also! The only doctor I didn't click with was Dr. Visneski.
And if you do have complications, the NICU is our of this world! My son was there for 2 weeks due to some breathing difficulties. The staff is amazing at the hospital! If I can be of anymore assistance let me know!

Hi J. - I use May Grant Assoc for my regular OBGYN and also for the delivery of my daughter (in January). I was VERY pleased with all of the midwives and doctors I worked with and had a fine (all-be-it quick) delivery experience at Womens & Babies. They called for all tests that were needed without hesitation and the midwives were all very informative. I then had the opportunity to see Anne, who delivered my baby the next day for my follow up appt and then also for my 6 week follow up... so the follow thru was very consistant, which I liked. Best of luck to you.....

I lived in Millersville and then moved out to York PA... but always wanted to deliver and Womens and Babies. I switched from OBGYN of Lancaster to May Grant when I got pregnant with my first in June 2005 because I didn't feel OBGYN of Lancaster was very responsive or attentive in my calls & questions. I absolutely LOVE May Grant! I was recommended to Dr Krespan by a friend with 5 children now but also met with many of the midwives and Dr's throughout my first pregnancy. My first was delivered by midwife Anne Williams whom is my favorite! I try to see her, Jana Myers, and Heather Hunter for my appointments this time around. (I am pregnant again and due in May and still going to May Grant.) Dr wise... Krespen was good... the only one I wasn't too crazy about was Dr Yingling... not mean or nasty or anything... just didn't click with me. Best of luck to you! May Grant and Womens and Babies are the best!!!

Welcome J.!
I went to May/Grant years ago for womanly stuff but went thru ECH for my OB and delivery. Ephrata was so very awesome! I had Dr. Meyer. When I went to May/Grant I saw Dr. Krespan, he is really good too as are the midwives (friends told me about the midwives). SInce the location is better for you in Lancaster I highly reccomend May/Grant!
Email anytime if you need a new local buddy! :)

I live in Lebanon county and I travel the extra distance for May-Grant. I have been with them for 13 years. My Mother has been a pt. there also for greater then 20 years. They are very conviently located next to the Womens and Babies Hospital or at on of there many sta. offices. Do not hesitate to go here!!!! I am also expecting my child in April and this is the third that will be delivered by May-Grant :)

My recommendation is Cheri Gard, she is a midwife and delivered my son on '02. She is excellent!!!! still see her to receive my yearly exams. She is in with Dr. Dorothy May and Dr. Eichenlaub. Dr. MAy is the daughter of the original May that started may grant. I would definitely check them out. Thier number is ###-###-####. Good Luck
