I will be moving to the Nashville area in a couple of months and will be 20 weeks along in my pregnancy. I will be obviously be in need of an OB/Midwife when I move. I will be doing some research on my own, but wanted to know if you could recommend anyone that you have been very happy with.

My current care is with an OB's office with 4 midwifes on staff. I love the midwifes and they were great through my last pregnancy and would like to find a practice with a similar set-up where I can see the midwifes through the entire pregnancy unless there are complications.

Any suggestions would be great. Unfortunately we also do not know what area we will be moving to yet, but I do know my work office is located on Patterson St. in Nashville. If you have any suggestions on good neighborhoods, that would be appreciated too (we will be renting the first couple of years until we decide exactly which area we want to settle in).

What can I do next?

I would highly recommend Bennett Spetalnick at Vanderbilt Medical Center. They are highly known in the middle TN area for their excellent NICU in case one would need it. His practice has 4 or 5 OBs in it, all of which are wonderful. It is located on 21st Ave. about a 5 minute drive from Patterson Street. Drs. Beyer and Brown in that practice area also great. I don't know if they have midwives since I did not go that route but I'm sure that they could tell you if you called.

The midwives that are attached to Vanderbilt Hospital are wonderful! They work out of West End Women's clinic on West End Ave. Margaret Buxton delivered my daughter, as well as three of my friends' children. There are about 7 of them that work out of that office and your child will be delivered at Vanderbilt. Good Luck with your search!

Well, I don't know of any OB's but it might be helpful to know that Baptist Hospital is on Patterson Street and I am sure there are several OB's if not in the hospital then very nearby. As for where to live, I live in Hermitage and I just love it here. It's east of Nashville on I-40 and is about 10-15 (non-rush hour) minutes from downtown.
