Hello Ladies! I am still relatively new here and just found out that I am pregnant. This will be a high risk pregnancy due to the fact that my last baby was preterm. It will also be my third cesarean section. I am planning to deliver at Baptist Hospital, (unless you gals give me a reason not to). I was hoping some of you could refer me to a good Doctor.

What can I do next?

K.,
Congrats on the pregnancy and welcome to Nashville!
I also had a very high risk pregnancy with a c-section and was very fortunate in finding an awesome OB. Her name is Rosanne Maikis. Also an excellent one is Jacqueline Rodier. I would highly recommend either of them. Best of luck!

If you live on the east side of Nashville, Lisa Jabusch is a great doctor. She is in a practice at Summit Medical Center called Tennessee Women's Care (I think that is the name). She has privileges at Baptist and Summit. If it is high risk, from what I hear Baptist would be better for you.

We moved here from Orlando about a year ago, so I asked around for an OBGYN as well. Dr. Lewis Bellardo is great. He delivered my neighbors twins and she had a very difficult pregnancy. She swears by him. I went for just for my annual exam and was really impressed by him and the nurses in his office. His office is about a block from Baptist.

Mine is Dr. John Wilters. He's at 2201 Murphy Ave, not far from Centennial Hospital. His number is ###-###-####. He's a great doctor. He doesn't kid around and is straight forward with you.

Also, I recommend Dr. Bernadette J Meadors. She's at 2211 Church St, ste 301. Her number is ###-###-####. My cousin has her and her (the doctor) preference is Baptist (my cousin delivered there last year).

Hey K.

I don't have a dr. for you, as i was just a normal pregnancy and i don't think my dr. does high risk (dr. draughn at TN women's center, he was great) but I will highly recommend going to Centennial to deliver if your dr. can. I was initially planning to go to Baptist but had 2 different people who had delivered at both hospitals tell me adamantly that Centennial was better. When we took the tour of both we were more impressed by Cent. so we did chose it. My care was excellent. I had a c-section so wasthere for several days... also had some severe breastfeeding issues to work out and their lactation people were wonderful. It is a smaller hosiptal, they have half the births that baptist does so i think they just have more time for patients.

5 yrs ago I had Dr. Andrew Chern....I loved him :) ###-###-####

His office is next to Cenntenial hospital....which is right behind Baptist also...he gave me the option of delivering at either...I chose Centennial's The Womens Hospital..cause it was smaller but has such great care for the baby and mom :)

Hi K.,

I too moved from FL about 8 yrs ago and I just delivered at Baptist last year. I was also a high risk pregnancy and my baby was born 5 weeks early. My dr delivered at Baptist and I won't deliver there next time. While the delivery was ok the after care was horrible! I am a nurse myself and the care given was the worse I have ever received, ie: if I wanted the baby I would have to go get her (having a c section this was nearly impossible at times), if I was due for pain medicine I would have to call several times and it was never brought on sechedule so I was always in pain..plus, the food was horrible. My friend just delivered at Centennial and had a wonderful experience so I will be going there next time.

Sorry I don't have any recommendations on obs as mine only delivered at Baptist.

Dr. Bellardo is good, and he delivers at Baptist and Centennial. I've always gone to the Vanderbilt Nurse Midwives, personally.

Hi K.,

I live in Nashville also. My daughter had her first child while she was living in nashville and we used "Norman Hamburger". The name was a little strange when we were first told about him, but he is wonderful. I am 50 years old and I liked him so much that he is now my regular female doctor.

He is at Southern Hills medical center.

My daughter was a carrier of streptacoccaus B and we had no idea. He tested her as soon as she went in labor and started giving her antibiotics so that our grandaughter would be ok. She is perfect. That has been five years ago.

I can't say enough about how nice and concerned he was. He still asks about my daughter and grandbabies, even though she moved several years ago.

If you can get past the name "Hamburger", I think you would love him.

K.

Hi, K.,
I LOVE Dr. Donna Crowe. She's wonderful! Women Obstetrics & Gynecology: ###-###-####.
Offices are adjacent to Baptist. I delivered both my babies at Baptist and have no complaints.
She has great partners, too. (Although you don't "rotate" doctors, as in some practices. Your doctor is YOUR doctor throughout.) In particular, Dr. Annette Kaiser is also fabulous. (She delivered my son because Dr. Crowe was out of town.) Love them both.
Congratulations and God bless!

I don't have a high risk pregnancy, but my doctor is great. I am eight months pregnant, and have had really good experience when seeking help with any problems that I have had. I don't know where you live or would prefer to see your doctor, but my doctor is Gwinnett Ladson of the Women's Health Center of Meharry Medical Group at 1919 Charlotte Avenue which is not far from Baptist Hospital. the number is ###-###-####.

Hey fellow Floridian :) We just moved last June from Bradenton, FL.
We lived in Nashville before... back in the last Century :) so I do know a good OB/GYN to recommend.

Sherrie A. Richards, MD
2201 Murphy Avenue
Suite 410
Nashville TN 37203
Phone: ###-###-####
Fax: ###-###-####

She is in the Women's Center and works with Centennial, Vanderbilt and Baptist.....she is really great and very competent. I have used her only as a GYN because I always seem to be living somewhere else when I have babies :) She did a great surgery for me...probably saved my life and still kept me in the baby business. She is outstanding and would certainly be up to the challenge of a high risk pregnancy.
Here is the link to her professional profile maintained by the TN Department of Health

No matter who you choose be sure to check them out on here...same goes for Pediatricians

Good Luck with your little one!
