If he's having trouble in school, ask for a child study or evaluation. If they say, "He's just a behavior problem," say, "Then I want a Functional Behavioral Analysis included in the Child Study." If they say, "What's that?" then run, do not walk, to a special education advocate or attorney to help you.

Meanwhile, if there is a children's hospital they might be able to help you with an evaluation. It might be ADHD, or it might be a sleep problem, or it might be allergies, or he might be nearsighted, or....You don't know until he's evaluated.

My daughter was referred to Ann Gutherie (she is a nurse practioner) at AZ Family Resource Counseling [###-###-####]. Ann was able to evaluate her and write her perscriptions for ADD medicaltion. Everyone there is helpful, we had to wait about 5 weeks for a new patient appointment, but it was worth it. If your childs doctor is unwilling to evaluate him for anything (allergies, sleep apnea, anemia, etc) then I would suggest that you get a new doctor. Remember, it takes a village to raise a child. You need healthcare professionals who are willing to do what is in the best interest of your son. Good luck and hang in there.

So I'm new to all of this myself, but they were great. You can read about them on the web, just look up Melmed center. They are located off of 50th st. and Shea in Scottsdale but worth the drive to get help for your son.Good luck.T.

Every doctor wants to medicate a child and dub them adhd or add. Kids have alot of energy and sometimes foods make them hyper, certain dyes in food, sugars artificial sweetners and chocolate. John travoltas wife kelly preston wrote a book on this and alot is the junk in foods. Kids get bored and hes a boy they never saty focused long. i was like that as a child and proved to be very intellegent and now own my own corporation and have a 22 month old boy. He is very busy and very bright and full of energy. They dont let kids have PE at some schools or even run, so how can our kids get all that energy all out? Dont be to quick to medicate. My friends son is medicated and its like the light went out in his spirit. Ask him what he likes to do and maybe a physical sports activity with get out all that restlessness.

Unfortunately a pcp cannot take care of add or adhd properly anyway. My husband has add. You need to take him to a Psychriatrist (SP?) They are the only ones in Arizona that are permitted to write a RX for add and adhd since they are controlled substances. Check with your insurance for a Psych who specializes in Child add - adhd!

Is there add or adhd history in you or his fathers families? It can be heriditary... you may also waht to check with a chiropractor - I know that studies have been done showing that chiropractic care can also help lighten some of the symptoms of add.
But make sure you have him go thru a complete add/adhd screening first! Once kids are put onto the drugs it is very hard for them to function properly without them. You will notice a change in their personality! My husband was diaginosed when he was 12 and his mom refused to put him on child retalin - trouble maker and by 17 had dropped out of highschool. got himself treatment about 3 1/2 years ago. now is 31 and is completely a different person!!! (for the better!)

If you donlt have ins check the yellow pages for child psych and tell them you need to know the cash rates - alot of times you'll find that if they know you do't have ins they will give you discounted cash rates!

GOOD LUCK!!!!! K.

Hi P.,

I'm 37 mother of three children. I don't know what part of the valley that you live in. But I also have a seven year old son. He attends Paradise Valley School District. There is some concern that he may have a learning disability. The school is VERY proactive in determining what this disability is, he is currently being tested. "Free of Charge" My son's father actually knows more about the "legal" terms for what the requirements on these tests are. But as he explained to me... PV was sued years ago for not offering a fair learning whatever, and so they got there act together. Scottsdale School District is just in the beginning stages of pulling there testing program together. So I would speak with the School Nurse and your son's teacher about 504program or the IEP (Independent Educational Program)
504 is the first level and IEP is the next.

However... You can call Dr. Fishler in Scottsdale, I'm not sure if I spelled his name correctly he is a Behavorilist, that diagnosed my sons half-sister w/ADD and then you could go to Claire Jones and have the testing actually done VERY thourough, she is very well known but at the time his sister was tested a year or so ago, the cost was approx. $525.00

Good Luck. I think that I've given you the best options. Of course in the meantime I am aware that reducing sugar from a childs diet is extremely beneficial - try just to eliminate soda.

Hi P.; I have been able to help several children with vaious issues anger anxiety, adhd etc. It's not troubled children it's children in trouble. I'm sharing a results story, we don't make claims of curing, it's our body that's the miracle. I'll share more if you e-mail me,
I'm C. at:
____@____.com

We don't talk theory, we share reality like the story below.

Steve and Kari Thompson
Apple Valley, MN

We are Steve and Kari Thompson from Apple Valley, MN. Steve is a pilot for a commercial airlines. I am a retired Occupational Therapist and lucky stay-at-home Mom of four children, ages 7, 5, 3, and 1. We have been married for 10 years.
Our Introduction To Reliv Fortunately He Was Listening

Steve was on a trip and overheard another pilot talking on his cell phone about Attention Deficit Disorder and the awesome results someone had experienced while taking a nutritional drink called "Reliv". Our oldest son had just been tested through the public school system for ADD issues per his teacher's recommendation. Tyler was struggling in school, easily frustrated with homework and beginning to feel sad because "I'm the worst reader in my
class." In desperate attempts to help increase Tyler's attention span, his teacher removed all the supplies from his desk and placed them in a tray at the front of the class, strategically positioned his desk for the least distractions possible and required that he use his outdoor recess to catch up on daily work.

We Had To Do Something
Steve and I knew he needed to have consequences for not doing what was expected of him, but we also knew he needed to have his recess time. We agreed that we would complete the unfinished work daily at home and this became just one more place for him to struggle. The ADD testing results indicated that he did not qualify for special services but the possibility of putting him on medication was an option. As parents we were extremely against medicating our child, especially as a first resort. That's when we found Reliv!

Things Began To Improve
Marty (the pilot Steve heard talking) and Angie Smith came to our house to tell us about the product and the business opportunity. We were anxious to get started because of our hope it would help Tyler. We also realized that we all could benefit from better nutrition, so as a family of six we all started on the products. Within four weeks we had a different son including great reports from school, better interactions with his siblings, and increased self-esteem as he came home with an "Eager Reader Award." Homework was no longer a battle. We decided not to tell the teacher that Tyler was taking Reliv to see if she recognized a difference on her own. At conference time she said, "I don't know what has changed for him in the last month,
but he is a different kid."

And They Got Even Better!
We then learned that adding a third shake for Tyler during the day might give him even better results. So I contacted the school nurse, realizing that there are several kids that go to the nurse's office daily to take ADD meds or inhalers for asthma. Why not Reliv? Our pediatrician did not hesitate to send the required order to the school because she recognized what good nutrition was doing for Tyler. It was a good decision because Tyler has made remarkable progress.

Our Whole Family Benefits

Our #2 son has eczema and alopecia, an auto-immune disorder that causes body hair loss. He went from a full head of hair to completely bald with some additional hair loss on his arms and legs in only three months. A short time after starting his Reliv shakes the hair loss slowed down and he did not lose his eyebrows or eyelashes! He had "peach fuzz" after two months and six months later a complete head of hair (Something the doctor said would not happen with his type of alopecia.) He has also had wonderful results from the symptoms of eczema and when flare ups occur, the prescription lotion
that was unsuccessful in the past works wonders with just a small dose.

Our three year old daughter, Tori, is very healthy. However, we feel great knowing that she is getting the nutrition her body needs daily. Even our youngest daughter, Ella, who is just a toddler, gets Reliv's Kid's NOW in her baby cereal.

I have had great results with seasonal allergy relief. These are allergies I've lived with for over 25 years. No more prescription medication, no more suffering! I also have an increased energy level and decreased sweet cravings.

Steve has noticed the chronic skin rash on his fingers has cleared up. The deep cracks in his heels look better than ever. He no longer takes ibuprofen like they were M&Ms, and his blood pressure has been consistently on the low end of normal instead of the high end. When Steve added the product Arthaffect to his shakes he noticed relief from ankle pain in three days and has been able to start running again.

Reliv As Our Home Based Business

As a very busy mom and dad we definitely were not looking for anything to fill up any more of our already precious time. We decided to enter the business at the highest profit level because it allowed us to purchase our family's product at wholesale and because we knew we wanted to share the Reliv products with our family and friends. Sharing Tyler and Baron's stories was a very natural thing to do and much to our surprise we suddenly had 20 plus customers: our pediatrician, Baron's preschool teacher, Tyler's gym teacher, family, friends, neighbors, coaches,.all from simply sharing our story.

Our initial goal was to share Reliv with enough new customers to cover the cost of the Reliv products for our family. But now only a few months after starting our home based business with Reliv we see an income of $500 to $900 a month. We see the business potential increasing every day.

If You Visited Us Today...

If you visited us today. you would find us busy enjoying our four kids. Never a dull moment at the Thompson house with hockey, baseball, soccer,.boating, camping, fishing.mealtime, laundry, and shopping. As the saying goes, "Life is not a dress rehearsal", so we try our best to enjoy every minute. Our Faith keeps our life in focus and we are so thankful to be part of the Reliv family.
