We bought a CSA share to help out a friend who is on vacation this past week. This is a bit more than I'd spend on veggies and I was dismayed to find that a bunch of carrots that had been at the bottom of the bag has a moldy spot or two on every single carrot. This is a bluish white mold. Can I trim the spots off and then freeze or cook? Or do I need to just toss them?
Also, nothing else in the bag appears moldy.

Thanks for the advice. I have trashed them. I was too afraid to even put them in the compost. In fact, I'm revisiting the idea of getting rid of what is left from the entire bag. My friend comes back today and I will let her know what happened. Maybe she can contact the CSA. A refund would be nice, but mostly I'm hopeful they won't pass bad carrots on to anyone else. I'd advise anyone picking up a CSA to check out the produce before taking it home.

No way would I feed my family anything that has had mold on it. I am glad that you tossed it. I would definitely mention the problem to my friend.
I would not eat anything moldy, even if I cut mold off and I certainly would not feed it to my family.
Throw it out vs taking the chance of getting your family sick and spending more $$$ on medical bills.
Cut your losses now... Pitch the carrots and make sure everything else is clean and edible.

Turns out this is going to be a problem for your friend and you need to let him know that the crop has an infection. If they just re-plant next year without treating, the fungus can ruin the whole crop.

Based on what I read - I would toss them. Bummer. Especially since you were trying to ehlp out a friend. I would maybe ask to get some money back from the co-op.... not sure if that's a route you want to take.
Toss them. According to my biology teacher, mold is carcinogenic and by the time you see mold on food, spores have run through the whole item.
