ok so as i posted in my last question that i would know by wednesday if i was having twins or not. now i have to wait til next thursday for another ultrasound. when i went into the doctor's office yesterday, we did an exam, blood work, cultures, etc. he put me on a 24 hr pee testing due to my last prego problems of preeclampsia/hypertension. so at 3 months i am already high isk prego. any way he still said he can not rule out twins. they requested med records and ultrasounds from the clinic i went to to see the images. as far as they can tell until next week it is a possible multiple image. they see 1 baby but fibroid and a possible image or structure behind the baby. i am not having morning sickness at all like my first pregnancy. i am more anxious, sleep deprived, itred at a drop of a hat, hungry, and more lower back pains with some body aches. i am even having dreams im pregnant with twins, and saying they or the babies already to my fiance. god i cant believe i got prego on birth control..lmao.;P
what do you think is it twins, or am i psyching myself out? i know only the ultrasound can tell next week but id like some answers.

Twins runs in my family and when I was pregnant with my second I kept having dreams that I was pregnant w/ twins. I was so scared that it would be twins (we couldn't afford 2 at one time right now) that it was causing me to have dreams about it. I ended up only being pregnant with one so the dream thing is just because you are thinking about it a lot. Either way, everything will be just fine. I have friends who have twins and they love it. They automatically have a play-mate to keep them entertained plus there are double the hugs/kisses and sweet baby cheeks and giggles. It will be more work, but people will help out more.

Hey there I know the feeling of getting the rug pulled out from under you...we went for #4 and got two for the price of one! Now, only the tests will tell for sure. In the meantime, try to chill, it is simply out of your hands until the results come back. If it IS twins, well, that is very hard at first and very great after a short while! You will never be lonely, ever! And although you will want to throw them out the window sometimes, on most days they will have you crying...with joy. Let us know what happens!

What have they said about your numbers? With multiples your blood level numbers would be higher. Since you have twins on your mind, it is totally natural to think about it 24/7. Since you have a bit of a mystery, you could be making yourself more anxious. Unfortunately, you have to wait to be sure about twins or not but you could ask what your blood levels are.

You really need to try and relax, take some baths, read a relaxing book, watch a favorite movie. If you are already considered a high risk pregnancy you really need to try and not be concerned by this. If you are having twins, twins it is, and if you are having one, one it is. You will not know for sure until you find out your blood levels and a clear ultrasound. Freaking out, worrying, stressing about it will do no good so just take some deep breaths and find something else calming to fill your mind.

I also got prego on birth control, but it is not 100% effective so it is possible (I do not believe the 99% effective because I think women or OBgyns just do not report the women who get prego on birth control). We use condoms now since I have been told my next pregancy would be high risk and I get depressed easily so for medical reason I do not want to put myself in that position at this point in my life.

I'm pregnancy with twins and with a history of preeclamsia, and it was a shock to get the news at first. I'm high risk too and tests/ ultrasound will become second nature. Now I'm thrilled though, and looking forward to their birth.

Twins are usually seen around 8 weeks or so (not always), but the blood levels are usually a give away as they are normally higher. If they're asuming you might have twins, you'd automatically be classified as high risk. Preeclamsia testing will be one more thing they'll keep tabs on, along with a higher risk for gestational diabetes and pre-term labor. A good resource, regadless of what condition you have, is the book "Your High Risk Pregnancy".

If this is your second pregnancy, you will be more tired than with your first because you have a child to look after and not as much time to rest - whether you are having twins or not. You will also feel sysmptoms a lot sooner. A lot of what you are feeling - stress, anxiety, insomnia, is mental, just try to relax until you get a definite yes or no.

Also, if you are 3 months along (around 12 weeks?) as your doctor to have an NT ultrasound if possible. This is an important screening test for Down's Syndrome. http://www.babycenter.ca/pregnancy/antenatalhealth/scans/...

I'm still confused why your doc cannot tell you by blood tests if it's twins... at 3 months! There's a range for a singletons, twins, triplets... I have triplets, started out with quads. And your doc must be using a small office u/s unit if by 3 months he can't see if there's two babies in there or not. He may want to send you someplace that has a large u/s unit, especially if you're high risk already. If you're already high risk, you should be seeing a specialist anyway. They could easily see 3 babies on me at 6 weeks with a small vaginal u/s unit. By 11 weeks they could more than easily see 4 babies using a large u/s machine, although the 4th had already passed. At 6 weeks the numbers were up and obvious there was more than one baby. I think you're psyching yourself out but you need to get checked out by a high risk doc and someone who is familiar with multiples to get a correct diagnosis.

Take a deep breath. Ok, it will be ok, I know.. I was on birth control and got pregnant with twins 19 years ago...It was a shock, and it has been the most fun I could have ever hoped for!! Relax and wait for the next ultra sound, regardless of one or two babies, all this worry and stress is not good for you or your baby(s). I experienced no morning sickness with my twin pregancy and I was extremely hungry and tired. And I had a high risk pregancy and spent much time in bed, but my boys arrived here - small but healthy. Take it all one day at a time and I will pray for peace for you.

All you can do is wait. It's hard to be patient and natural to feel anxious, but as it's entirely out of your hands, just try to relax.

The fibroid, if it is large enough, may very likely be the cause of your body aches.

It's important to try to listen to your body. Try to rest when you can. You'll have answers in time.

I think all you can do is relax. This is your second, and I have been soooo much more exhausted with the second, and definitely more pains all around. I also had so many twin dreams that when they told me one, I still had it in my head that they could be wrong. I know that you are anxious, but unfortunately, all you can do is wait for the "official" call. Good luck.
