Hey mamas,
I need to get a maternity belt to help with pain associated with pelvic pressure and varicose veins (in my legs and private area). There seem to be a lot of different brands/styles available. Just wondering if anyone has used one before, what style/brand you liked, etc. Any input appreciated! BTW, third pregnancy for me and I am 31 weeks.
Thanks!
Cyndi

I got the Loving Comfort one from Motherhood Maternity for $39. It was worth every penny. I noticed a difference immediately. It is the best money I ever spent. It sounds like the same one MItzi is talking about. I went one day without it because I was just hanging out at home and was in a lot of pain the next day. I won't make that mistake again. My only recommendation is to put a belly band or a tank top on underneath to put a layer between you and the belt. I wouldn't put it overtop of the panel of your pants because you will have to take it off to go to the bathroom. You can check a consignment shop for one, I plan on selling mine after this pregnancy.

I rode the school bus last time I was pregnant and it was a killer on my back and tail bone. I got a elastic one from wal-mart that was really cheap but it worked.

I'm 31 weeks with my third pregnancy too! Congratulations! I bought a symphysis maternity belt awhile ago for pelvic pain, and it was really helpful for awhile. The problem I found with it though, is that it has to be pretty tight to help with the pain, but when it's tight it's really uncomfortable and gives me a lot of braxton hicks contractions. But I would have that problem with any belt, I'm at the point now where even just pants make me uncomfortable, everything's getting so tight in there! The one I have has really good reviews, though. And it's only 30 dollars. Good luck! :-)

Combination of V2 supporter by prenatal cradle and Gabrialla maternity support belt - both available on Amazon. I also wore Gabrialla's maternity support hose off amazon. Just had my 3rd child in May. I had the same problems only they started with my first after sitting on a 4 hour flight at
30 weeks prego. Sucked- came out earlier in subsequent pregnancies. I still plan to have 1 or 2 more kids. By the way- I am extremely active (ran till 32 wks with pregnancies 2 &3 and did boot camp on my due date
This last time), and never gain more than the recommended 25-35...but it doesn't make any difference to these stupid veins! I feel your pain! Best wishes on the delivery of your new little one!

My OB gave me a prescription (so I had to pay $7 after insurance) but it was one you can buy in a store for around $40 (which is the reason they told me to take the prescription). I don't remember the brand, but it had three parts. There was a belly part that went around and in front to anchor the support part, the back support which reaches to the front and gribs that anchoring part, and a piece that wrapped over the top (optional) that helps hold the baby down better and gives just a little more support. I was skeptical but it was a lifesaver for me. The NP who wrote the scrip for me had just had twins and said it was like a sports bra for your belly and I would love it. She was right.

I also felt like the baby was hanging halfway out from all the pain and pressure, but he was well and truly in, just pushing down.

Yes, Victoria, that sounds like the same brand!! I gave mine to a co-worker afterwards and she loved it. I was pregnant in the winter and had to drag my other kids around, do housework, and clear out snow when my husband wasn't home and it was such a lifesaver. I agree about wearing a cami underneath and they told me that at the store, too. :)

I, too, got the $40 from motherhood maternity with a prescription from my OB (also with my third). I'd had others with my second and that was by far the best one I'd tried.
