I need a pediatrician for my nine month old. Any recommendations? I am vaccinating but would like a doc that is willing to modify the time table. Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

North Seattle Pediatrics is great ###-###-####. Its a practice of about 8 docs located at I-5 and Northgate Way. I'm in Bothell and it is a bit of a drive, but I've been taking my son to them since he was born and have always been happy with the service. They're very nice, explain things and don't make you feel as if you're just in the way of the next patient.
Good luck, F.

Hi Hillary,

I also take my daughter to Woodinville Pediatrics and she see's Dr. Johnson and we really like him. When she was born (2 years ago), I seem to remember that Dr. Nakahara wasn't taking any new patients at the time. However, he was one of the docs that saw her in the hospital right after she was born and I was bummed that he wasn't taking new patients! I have to say that we have seen several from that practice (when Dr. Johnson was out on vacation) and they have ALL been great! Good luck!

We use Providence Pediatrics at Silver Lake. It is right behind (North) the Fred Meyer on 132nd and Bothell-Everett Highway. We like all the pediatricians there and they are awesome about same day appts. The also have a "well-child waiting room" that you can in if you are just there for a check-up and your child is not sick. Love that!!

I love Dr. O'Mahoney at the Everett Clinic. She's not there all the time, she subs for the doctors there (mostly the pregnant ones on maternity leave). But she's the best Doctor I've ever seen. She has spent over an hour with us at each of my daughter's well-baby visits. She's practical and has adjusted our daughter's vaccinations.

My daughter's normal doctor at The Everett Clinic is Dr. Swanson. I've liked her better than the other doctors I've seen at The Everett Clinic and at Providence. I've seen Dr. Bissey...he's alright, but he rolled his eyes when I asked him about my daughter's back popping and told me it was fine. That put me off. I saw Dr. Shull once and would never go back. We waited over an hour to see him and then he spent 5 minutes diagnosing her, then told me the prescription was ordered. I had to ask him what was wrong with her. "So....does she have an ear infection then?" I thought that was ridiculous.

I've seen a couple doctors over at Providence and have been less impressed with them than I was with even Dr. Shull.

Well, there're my two cents. Welcome to the area!

Hi H.!

Welcome to the Mill Creek area! I live here too! And I am ALSO a No Cal transplant! LOL!! Where are you from? I'm from the San Jose area. Anyhoo, I take my boys (4 1/2 and 1 year) to Woodinville Pediatrics and see Dr. Nakahara. I also do a slowed/modified vacc schedule and he is just fabulous! I highly recommend Dr Nakahara! Email me if you'd like to meet at a park sometime with the boys. There is a park right in my neighborhood. ;-) We can talk about lovely Cali!
Cheers! ~A.

We love Dr. Brandy Ross in Lynnwood at the corner of 164th and Hwy 99. She runs Moonrise Healthcare. She is a naturopath who teaches at Bastyr. She does vaccinations on whatever time schedule you both work out, and also does not hassle non-vaccinating parents. She's been very helpful with giving us information on a shot-by-shot basis about which she thinks are "worthy" or not, and most importantly, why she thinks the way she does.

She's very friendly and patient, and has related to me as my own dr as well as to my daughter. We love Dr. Brandy!

H.,

I would recommend Birth & Family Clinic in Edmonds near Stevens Hospital. They are a family practice clinic and we've been going there since my 5 1/2 year old son was just a few months old. The docs are great, and really listen to what you have to say, and your wishes.

Dr Wendy Swanson, Dr Sara Tamarin, or Dr Bissey (man) are all good pediatricians. They are with The Everett Clinic in Mill Creek.

Hi H.,

Welcome to Mill Creek! It's a great town to live in. :)
Two places to check out:
1) The Children's Clinic in Edmonds (right on Hwy 99 at 212th). It's where I take my kids. It only takes 10mins or so to get there, and the drs are all really great.
Here's their #: ###-###-####

2) I haven't used this clinic, but I have friends that do, and it is in Mill Creek:
North Sound Pediatrics
15808 Mill Creek Blvd, Mill Creek, WA 98012
###-###-####

There is also the Everett Clinic right in downtown Mill Creek, they have pediatricians too.

Good luck!
