I am looking for a mother's "support" group in the Henderson area. I have a 4 month old son and would like to socialize with other new mothers.

Hi, my name is Y. and i have twin 14 month old girls. I have been attending a Mommy and Me group since the girls were 3 months old. it's been great because the lady that heads it is a lactation consultant. She has been a wealth of information and help over their babyhood. I do live in Henderson, but unfortunately Pat Stahl (the lactation consultant) lives on Rainbow and the 95. It's about 30 minutes from our area, but really worth it. It's at her house and there are about 5 or 6 other moms. There babies are about the same age or older than mine. So, i'm not sure if you would be interested in this group or not. She also charges 2 or $3 per session, which is once per week (if you can make it)on Thursdays from 10 to 1PM. You don't have to show up on time or stay the entire time. She sets it up like that for nap schedules. If you are interested, email her and ask her if you can join us. Like you, I was new to Nevada a year ago and was desperate to meet other moms. I got hooked with a new MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) group in Henderson. There are a couple of them that meet out here. They basically are meetings where moms get together, eat, have a speaker, a craft, and just some fun mom time. The one I help with meets once a month, plus play dates. Our first meeting is on Sept. 18th @ 6:30p.m.
If you would like to know more about MOPS you can go to their website, www.mops.org. Our meetings are at South Hills Church Community off of Horizon Ridge. You could also call the church office and ask to speak to someone about MOPS!
I love going to the meetings, making new friends, and just talking about mommy stuff. I hope you do find ways to get connected with other moms!
