Hi Moms! I am new to the Winfield/Wheaton IL area. I am looking for any recommendations for gyms/ athletic centers. I am looking for a gym with a variety of equipment (treadmills, weights, etc....) and also classes (zumba, boot camp, strength training, etc...). If you have any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated!!!

What can I do next?

Wheaton Sport Center would be closest to you offering quite a bit. I am a big fan of Lifetime Fitness though, especially the one in Bloomingdale. They have a ton to offer as far as classes go, an amazing child center (play room as well as tubes to climb, half court gym, computer lab, baby room, art area, outside playground, etc...PLENTY for them to stay busy with and not get bored going several times/week along with a great free class for kids 6 years + and some other extras), rock climbing, swimming pools, steam rooms, hot tubs, sauna, etc. that are all included in the membership. They were a little cheaper than Wheaton Sport Center when I joined over 3 years ago. Plus Lifetime is maintained very well and clean giving it a really nice feel. The people (staff and members) at the Bloomingdale location are generally more friendly and down to earth in my opinion than Wheaton Sport Center when I've been there to visit and with a friend, and than the Warrenville Lifetime although it's nice that with Lifetime you CAN go to different Lifetime Fitness locations having the membership to a Lifetime.

I just joined Health Track in Glen Ellyn and I love it. They have a ton of cardio eqip, great classes and great child care. I used to belong to the Y in Glen Ellyn which we enjoyed (and is cheaper) but needed a change.

Lifetime Fitness in Warrenville fits all of those requirements. It's not super cheap but it has a lot to offer.

Hi D. - Wheaton Sport Center (WSC) is in Wheaton, but on the Winfield side of Wheaton (i.e., the west side), so it's very close to you at 1000 W. Prairie Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187 ###-###-####). It's not a typical workout gym though - it's a huge sports club/complex with everything from exercise classes to tennis courts to childcare to a spa. If you're familiar with East Bank Club in Chicago, it's like that, but without a driving range or restaurant.
