Hi all,

I am looking for a vet in the HEB area that is good, reasonable and caring. I have been to a few around here and have not been very happy. I have a new puppy and need to get him in for shots. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks.

Dr B (his real last name is a bit difficult to pronounce) at the 183 Animal Hospital in Irving. Even though it isn't in HEB it is right off the freeway and very easy to get to. We still use him even though we have moved all the way down to South Arlington. They don't have a glamorous facility but their prices are reasonable and the care they give the animal and the owners is outstanding. Dr B is very practical and very competant. He never gives our dogs vaccinations they didn't need and when one of ours dogs had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic they kept him overnight free of charge.

Sorry but I have to tell you this little story too:
We had a a puppy a few years back that was seriously ill. We had her for 8 months before she became sick and absolutely loved this dog. To make a long story short we had to have her put to sleep. Dr B wasn't there when this happened but when he got to the office he asked for an update and immediately called me at home to express how sorry he was for our loss. I was pregnant with my first child at the time and was mess. He treated me like I was his own daughter and assured me we had made the right decision. Dr B and his entire staff is awesome!

I take my cats to Brown Trail Animal Hospital and see Dr. Heather Campbell. She's really up on the latest treatments, etc for pets and I like her personally. She has a partner named Kirk Weicht and he is good too. It's on Brown Trail and Harwood in Bedford.

The vet I use is in Grapevine - he was originally in the HEB area and moved several years ago. He is the best vet. His name is Dr. Rick Singleton. He is on William D. Tate in a little strip center with a convenience store and a couple of other businesses. He is right off 114/121 and William D Tate.
His address is 2644 William D Tate and his office number is ###-###-####.
Hope that you use him.

We've used Harwood Oaks off Harwood for about 8-9 ears now and they've been great. We've been there for everything from puppy care to having puppies, emergencies, distemper..you name it. The one time that really showed how much they cared though was the death of our female min-pin. My ex had "custody" of the dogs at the time and she got out and drowned in someones pool. She had her tag with the vet address on it of course so they wrapped her up wrote a long note about how sorry they were this happened and left her at the vets doorstep. The vet was incredibly caring when they called to tell me, letting me go spend time with her and taking care of getting her cremated and her urn, etc for me.
I've recommended them 100's of times throughout the year, they're professional but caring and they have very reasonable pricing. You can also get puppy package deals, and coupons for them for this and bathing, shots in the ads that come during the week in the mail.

Bedford Oaks Animal Clinic is the best. Dr. Rowe is nice, informative, and her pricing is extremely reasonable. I once lived in Valley Ranch and still drove to Bedford for my 2 Jack Russell Terrier's visits. She is located in a strip mall at Central & Bedford Road across from Wal-Mart Neighborhood Store. I adopted one of my dogs that needed to have some surgery to repair a prior injury and the cost was less than $300. Phone number is ###-###-####.

For cats, Hartland Cat Hospital, Dr. Bonnie Hartland.

In our house we refer to her as "the crazy cat lady" because she's crazy about cats and takes better care of them than most GP's take care of their human patients.

Brown Trail Animal Cinic in Bedford is AWESOME. They saved one of my cats' lives with a very cutting edge surgery that was only being performed by a few vets. And because it was only their second time to preform it they did it at a reduced rate. Very wonderful and caring people over there. I don't have the number on me, but you can look it up.

I have to pass on the great vet recommendation I received here on MamaSource. Dr. Steinle at Northwest Animal Hospital is the best vet I've ever been to. The whole staff is comprised of animal lovers and you truly feel that your pet is in loving, capable hands.

I take my furry children to Towne Center Animal Hospital. The doctor's name is Dr. Correll. He is very down to earth. It's family run. His wife and daughter work the front desk and I guess "prep" work for him. They are all so great! Dr. Correll really has a GREAT bedside manner. He takes the time to explain the details. He is in Colleyville around 26 (Grapevine Hwy) and Hall Johnson. The phone # ###-###-####

I like Austin Neely at Advanced Animal Care Clinic in Bedford. The clinic is located on the frontage road after the Harwood Road exit on Hwy 121. Their number is ###-###-####. Dr. Neely is super nice and caring (you can tell he loves animals!). I have a miniature dachshund and two kittens who see him. Because I have two kittys the vet tech gave me an estimate of the cost before they did anything, so I'm sure they could do the same for you.
