I'm looking for a good doctor for my son, the doctor that he is seeing now, we are not very satisfied with, we feel like we have to diagnose him for the doctor and our son never goes a week with out getting sick.

I can certainly understand your frustration. When I had my daughter she was senn by a wonderful pediatrician in Oxnard. Her name is Dr. Imelda DeForest. She was very kind and gentle with our daughter and very personable and friendly which put me at ease. She is also the Medical Director and President for the staff at St. John's Hospitals in Camarillo. Good luck!
I don't know if Camarillo is too far for you; our Pediatrician is Dr. Monisha Rao and we are very happy with her. You mentioned your son gets sick every week - if your Primary doctor isn't finding answers that satisfy you, maybe it's time to request a Specialist who specifically deals with the types of illness your son is experiencing. Go with your instinct and be his advocate if you're not happy with the current situation until you find a doctor who is truly helping. It makes all the difference in the world. I take all my kids, (I have 4, ages 15, 13, 2.5 and 8 months) to Dr. Roshan Shah in Oxnard, her office is located next to St. John's hospital on Rose. She will tell me when the kids are sick with a cold, to use saline drops for the nose and Tylenol for a fever. She was my ped when I had the last 2 kids at St. John's. She has a small enough practice that if my kid is sick and I call on Monday she can usually see us the same day, and we never have to wait, she is ontime. Her number is ###-###-####. Another perk: when the office is closed, like on Saturday or Sunday, you can call and it transfers to her cell phone and you can talk to her, you don't have to go thru an answering service and it is always reassuring to speak to her. Coastal Pediatrics is great! My two son's see Dr. Fostakowsky, but we have seen Dr. Blank and Dr. Pecht on occassion too. They have office's in Ventura and Oxnard (451 W. Gonzales/Oxnard). This office came highly recommended to me amongst friends when I had my 1st son. We have not been disappointed. With having two locations, my sons have been able to be seen with in a couple hours of placing a call to the doctor's office instead of ending up in an emergency room. It's a toss up which doctor I would choose as the primary for my kids at Coastal Ped's. All are great. Fostakowsky happened to be the one who visited my son in the hospital when he was born, so we stuck with him.

I see someone has already recommended Dr. Imelda DeForest. I also take my three children to her and have for many years. She knows them all very well and it makes it so much easier not to have to explain a lot of background each time I go in. She takes her time each visit to cover all my concerns and its fairly easy to get in for same day visits when my kids are really ill. She also takes care to make sure that her staff are friendly and helpful. Her office number is ###-###-####.
