Local Daily Deals - What Is Your Favorite Company and Why?

I love local daily deals. I think it is a great way to discover local companies and experience things that I might not otherwise try. I'm kind of new to purchasing them so I am looking for reasons why you like the company you buy your daily deals through. I like Living Social and Groupon. My experience with both is still pretty new. I haven't had any customer service issues yet. My biggest pet peeve is when the service provider tries to "undersell" the Daily Deal company by saying "You could buy it directly from us and we will honor the same price." I feel like the companies give me some protection so I like trying new products/services from the daily deals really for protection because if I am dissatisfied, they might intervene.

Who is your favorite and why? Thanks.

What can I do next?

I don't know about "local". I buy a lot of things online. Like from Woot! For two days, they were clearing their warehouse, so I got a bunch of stuff for cheap for Christmas. Or Modcloth - I stalk what I want til it's the price I want to pay. My anniversary dress, shipping included, was $20. I do like Kohl's and often find great deals there on kid clothes, especially end of season stuff. I am also a fan of Mabel's Labels and find their CS to be top notch, and their products are excellent. The whole family uses them. Oh, and I love IKEA. Lots of good stuff there, and it's a fun place, too. I can take DD for lunch and buy a few things (like kid toys or kitchen items) and make it an adventure. Or PetValu. I hit on them looking for a pet supply store that didn't sell animals. Every store has been universally friendly and well-stocked.

ETA: If you mean the deals from Mamapedia, I've been happy with the magazines and Mable's Labels. We have gotten several subscriptions for DD through Mamapedia's deals. I bought the yubo lunchbox, but don't think I really needed to spend that much on it. It's a fine company, but I find my use of the product isn't what I thought it would be. You couldn't pay me to use Totsy again.

A friend had a horrible time with one of those - might've been Living Social. So I avoid them. I have tried restaurant.com without a problem.

I like Groupon. I have bought lots of Groupon deals for places that I already frequent. It is easy to use. I like that if your Groupon expires it is stll worth the value that you paid, and that if the company is unable to fulfill the deal Groupon gives your money back. I have bought Groupons for hairstylists, manicures and pedicures, various restaurants, snow tubing, museum admissions, zoo membership, corn mazes, go-carting, clothing at Old Navy etc.

I use Living Social and Groupon. I don't like reastaurants.com because of the way I am treated when I have bought one of their deals and try and use it. It becomes a lossleader for the restaurant and they tend to shortchange the customer with the restaurant.com certificate.

I use my local stores and watch for sales. I'd rather buy local if possible.

Good luck to you and yours.

I like both Groupon and Living Social. I haven't had any complaints with either. I've purchased a remote car starter, lanterns, wine tasting and cave tour, wine dinner cruise, dinners, night out at dueling pianos, even a hotel weekend getaway.
It's always been something new and fun to try and I love getting a good deal! I seem to get more from Groupon than living social, but both are very easy and I've never had issues with redeeming or anything.

I did order my daughter a straightener for her birthday and the shipping took longer than I was anticipating b/c it shipped after the deal ended instead of immediately, but I think that's my biggest complaint (and its b/c I didn't read the fine print)
