I'm slowly working towards decorating my dd's room. She is 7. I painted her walls a light pink, her bedding is the Traget brand, Circo Happy flowers bedding in Pink and yellow, Target does sell a table lamp that is a white candle stick with a Happy flowers shade, but i don't really like it, I would rather have something that isn't a candle stick but more like a Vase, more balanced. I've been searching the web for a while now and can't really find what i want. $50 is my limit. I should lmention her bed is a canopy bed in a warm almost reddish oak. My dad actually made it, and it's really cherry but it isn't a dark almost black that most people think of . ANy aspireing designers out there that would be willing to help me find something??? I haven't tried Etsy yet I might do that.

Maybe you could just buy the Happy Flowers lamp, a same-sized second lamp with the base you want, and switch the shades.

You can spray paint the lamp base and get a separate shade. So, look for a vase shape you like, try Ross, Marshalls or Home Goods, tons of cute lamps under $50, also lots of cute vintage lamps on Etsy too you can try.

If the base is a ceramic type glass, you can go and get a primer and spray paint at Home Depot, just ask the paint counter expert on which to try for the base material. Tons of tutorials online how to do this.

Old fashioned, but kind of cute, would look cute with a drum shade:

Ada table lamp from cb2? - (bottom right). I think a white lamp will look good with pink and yellow. cb2 is a great company. (A branch of Crate and Barrel)

I'd definitely take a look at Marshalls and TJ Maxx. I've always found the most amazing lamps for a song there, not to mention other decor.

My aunt used to make all our comforter covers with a matching skirt on the bed. She would take me to a store and buy remnants. You can buy a pattern to make your own quilt covers, curtains and skirts for the bed.
I make curtains and drapes easily since the stitches are straight. Same for blanket covers.

Do you have a Hobby Lobby near you?
They have cute lamps for girls rooms. And had some pretty vase shaped lamps too.
