Laser Hair Removal - Flower Mound,TX

Has anyone had laser hair removal done at Glow Salon and Medical Spa in Irving? I'm considering it but was just wondering about how many treatments you had to have for underarm hair removal. The special I saw was for 6 treatments, but if it is likely to take many more than that, I may not be as eager to purchase it. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have never been to the salon you mentioned, but I have had laser hair removal on my underarms. Mine was done with a Sonata laser and I got good results from 5 treatments. I have fair skin and dark hair, which makes me a good candidate for laser hair removal, someone with different coloring may not get the kind of results I did. Results will also depend of the type of laser used and the experience of the technician using the machine. Most patients get 80-90% hair reduction from 5-8 treatments.
It does hurt, a lot, so keep that in mind. You can take ibuprofen before treatments to help with the pain, or you can apply a topical numbing cream before you get treated.
If you have treatments and have hormonal changes (pregnancy, menopause, etc) you can end up getting hair back. I had my treatments before I got pregnant and went from having about 2 hairs under each arm to having nearly all the hair come back.
I have worked at a medical spa where we offer laser hair removal for the last 5 1/2 years, and these are the things I tell patients before they have treatments. Hope this helps!

I have not been to that particular spa, but I have had laser hair removal done at Laser Beauty Medical Spa in Dallas. I've had two treatments so far and have had wonderful results. I went from shaving my underarms every morning (with stubble by the evening) to shaving about once per week - and I still have 4 more treatments in the package I purchased. The ladies at the spa I go to are excellent.
As far as the pain, the first session hurts the most, but ask for a cold rag to put on the area just treated because it really helps minimize the pain. The next session barely hurt at all. Compared to the Brazillian, the underarm treatment is a breeze!
Getting laser hair treatment was a great decision for me and I'm so glad I decided to go for it. I'm adding my lower legs to my next treatment. Good luck!

I have had laser hair removal on bikini, underarms and legs. I love it. However, it is very reasonable to expect more than 6 treatments. A lot of places offer special pricing for treatments after the initial six. I have had a total of 8-9 treatments and probably could go for a follow up. However, I can still go several days with no shave whereas before I had to shave daily. I am very pleased! Oh, and I did not have my services done at Glow Salon.

Good luck!

I can't comment on Glow, but I can say that Laser Hair Removal is THE way to go! I go to Uptown Laser and Skin in Uptown and have been pleased. The staff said to realistically expect 8-10 treatments. It depends on your hormonal cycles, the stage of hair growth your body is in, etc. It varies from person to person, but so far I have had 3 treatments to my bikini, underarms, and legs done, and the results have been great! I already don't have to shave nearly as much.

Hi, I tried the treatment (not in the same place or the same city for that matter) and I just wanted to advise you to try it first. I did and I found it so unbearably painful, I had to cancel it. Every person is different so maybe for you is different but try it out before deciding to sign up..you never know, and it's free.

Hi, I bought their Groupon last year and I'm very pleased with the service. They are very nice. I would recommend to buy 2 packages (12 treatments total) because 6 treatments will reduce considerably the hair but will not stop at all. If you buy 12 treatments you will have room for touch up. I will tell you that treatment 2 and 3 will not be encouraging because you don't see that much results but on treatment 4 you will start seen great results. I would recommend to really buy it because you will stop the hassle of shaving and is not that expensive with these offers! Good Luck!
