My obgyn is leaving her practice to teach...currently I am going to meet the new doctor next month, however I do want to explore my options in case I decide it is not a good fit. I am currently 4months pregnant with twins, it is a high risk pregnancy not just because of the twins but also because I am/was already at risk for pre-term labor...I am also seeing a specialist but they are not involved in the delivery...I would like to know your obgyn (if you liked him/her) & also the hospital...I will be breastfeeding my twins & want a hospital environment that is supportive of this...also I want a vaginal birth if at all possible (i understand the need for intervention/c-section but only if absolutely necessary).

What can I do next?

Shoot. I can't remember how far you are from Georgetown. If it is convenient to you, the Georgetown Women's Center was AWESOME!!! Not only do they encourage you to keep your baby in your room, but they are very pro-breast feeding, with a lactation consultant that gives a post-birth class, and will come to your room if you are having issues or have questions. Their nurses are amazing. I was in the hospital for about a week after birth because of complications on my end, and they took great care of me.

Patrick Allen, hands down. He delivers at The North Richland Hills hospital and their women's center is all new and wonderful. They are supportive of breastfeeding and have a lactation consultant come in to help. He even has a nurse midwife he works with who is awesome as well. I delivered my 2 children with him, my sister her 3 children.. and now that I'm pregnant with my 3rd and now live over 5 hours away, I'm seriously considering traveling to him to deliver my 3rd.

He is great with respecting your birthing plan, (within reason), respecting your wishes, but also intervening if necessary. For example, my first I ended up needing to have a vacuum delivery.

He has two clinics, one off of North Beach Street and the other by the hospital.

Look up his reviews, 100% positive feedback. I can't find a single Dr. in my area with that good of a rating and it makes me sad we moved now.

I used the Obstetrix group in Fort Worth. Specifically, Dr, Bannie Tabor (male). I am a type 1 diabetic and it was imperitive that my baby and I have excellent care. We had a very good experience, and I highly recommend them. You must get a referral first, no matter what kind of insurance you have (or don't have). They won't take patients without a referral. Good luck!
