Then we have the oldest, Casey, and shes just a loving rescue thats about 17 years old

and with our kitties we have my own, Jimmy, whos a very talkative Siamese
and we have the girl kitty Zoey, whose in heat and very annoying right now.

So What Happened?

Oh my god Julie I'm so sorry :( We came close to having ot put down Duncan last winter because his back was 70% compressed and he was in so much pain, but he got surgery and went into physical therapy and is so much better.

Ahh katrina, I understand the spoiled :) Duncan and Xander get basically all they want, Duncan because hes broke and cause Xander is the baby. I swear, Doxies try their best to talk! Duncan can't jump up on anything so he stares at people till we pick him up, or he'll moan and complain :)

We have 3 kitty furrbabies. All kittens when we first got them.

Mephisto - Lord of Hate and his littermate Voldemort (he has half and half black and white face) The Cat Who Shall Not Be Named

They were absolute terrors when we adopted them - can you tell. Now they are my bedtime cuddle buddies. They will be 9 this next year

And Arthur - named by my husband's aunt who gave him to us because without us he would have had to be an outside cat. He will be 8 this year and is much more attached to my husband than me.

All our four legged companions have been and are rescues.
Right now we have felines: Flower, a DSH silver tabby who was one of the many litters from my neighbor. The neighbor, now in her eighties has 13 human children. We joke she didn't believe in birth control for any being(Irish Catholic). She had cats that would populate the neighborhood! Flower is the smallest, and has a cute squeaky voice. She tolerates being picked up. She is the toy queen of the house. Begs for the lazer and plays fetch.
Bellana- all white now, but used to have a grey smudge between her eys on up a bit. She is our OCD kitty, she has been licking and pulling out her hair. We are starting to see better results with flower remedies(finally!).
Warf is the only boy now. He is my special polydacytl -6 toes on the front rt and seven on the front lft. I love polys. My first 2 kitties were polys. So, they hold a special place in my heart. Warf is the greeting cat for everyone that comes into the house. And he only will let you hold him on your lft shoulder not your right.
They all love belly rubs and head butts.
My teenage son has learned many lessons of compassion from these furry ones.

At the moment we have 4 kitty babies. A 5 year old Maine Coon we rescued off the streets and her 2 kittens that are now 3. We've had them since they were only a couple days old. We tried to rescue her before the kittens were born but obviously failed. She had another litter before the one we were able to save while she was still on the streets but we were unable to gain her trust and unable to save any of the kittens, they all passed sadly. Our fourth baby we just adopted end of February, he just turned 1 in July.
We lost one of our kitty babies in March, a week after adopting our littlest. She was a month shy of 15 years old. She developed a very aggressive oral cancer(as in the tumors litterally showed up in 2 days!) and developed kidney failure. We lost our other baby 2 years ago. He was termanally ill but held on until we found out we were having a girl and that she was healthy (I was pregnant with my third child when we lost him). We lost him the day after all the tests came back OK.
We've had fish but don't right now. I miss my big old tank (29 gallon) but it got too hard to take care of with everything else I was doing. We're talking about putting it back up soon though. I'm excited!
All my babies are spoiled and know it. They follow me around the house and are amazing with the kids.

My 4-legged baby is very much a baby. She is 6 or 7 weeks old. Too young to leave mom when we got her at 1 month old but someone had broken in to the place that had her and stole all the other pups and mom--she was hiding under the desk so we took her. She has discovered barking and whining so it is very much like having a baby in the house. I don't know how everything will change when our baby (2-legged) comes in November. Right now though, she is just a major bundle of energy.

We had to euthanize our 4-legged baby yesterday. He was an 11 year old basset hound and he had pancreatic cancer. Today is a really rough day for our family and we're having a hard time explaining to our daughter, who just turned 5. :(

We have 4 dogs and 3 cats -

Dogs - Betty Boop is a black Corgi mix with a white chest. Rescued from the Humane Society in 2004, we think she is about 13 years old now. She is the Grandma of the group and the absolutely best dog anyone could hope to have.

Winnie (or Minnie) is a what I call the football with legs. A dachsund who my son has spoiled rotten. She prefers to stay inside, and prefers to be carried around rather walk.

Mary is Winnie's daughter and the Baby of the group - spoiled by Betty and oh so very whiny. Her entire world is the house and the back yard - she is actually afraid to go in the front yard.

Chewy is yet another dachshund that we adopted from a friend's rescue shelter. He is a beautiful long hair, with a striking resemblance to Chewbacka from Star Wars. He also hates to be alone - he must always be with another dog or human.

For the cats, we currently have an odd collection.

There is Zoe who thinks Betty is her Momma and loves to hang out with the dogs. She is a gorgeous creature who has no coordination - often falling out of windowsills and off tables.

Mamma Kitty was adopted when her human passed away. She lost her left front leg fighting off a coyote defending her litter of kittens when she was younger. She is about 10 years old, and a sweet and gently soul.

Then there is our newest addition - Ben. Oh, Ben. He is huge and a a type 2 diabetic whose diabetes is under control due to a strict diet and special food. His last family abandoned him to the Vet and he lived at the Vet's office for 6 months until I my Vet asked me to take him home. He is obsessed with Zoe and often stalks her through the house. She, in turn, hates him - but he is determined to win her affections.

My only other "pet" is my 15 year old son. LOL

Fun question !!!
Thanks.

Oh boy...we have our 9 year old Beagle named Molly who we have only had for 3 years...family of friends didn't have the time to take care of her anymore and gave her to us. She's a sweetheart! Very loving, very sweet and listens to my 6 year old daughter more than me and my hubby!

Then we adopted our black cat Gus because my daughter wanted a cat almost 3 years ago...she earned him! He has been my baby since we brought him home. He's very talkative and very moody. He isn't the biggest fan of mu husband either! He loves to head butt me...one way he shows his love! And he cracks us up because he loves to sleep in the baby stuff...in the stroller, car seat, swing, bouncy chair...and he comes when he's called...like a dog!

Then there is Boo...Gus needed a playmate and when I saw her and heard her story at the shelter, I had to take her home. She was dumped with the rest of her litter behind a grocery store and she was the only one to survive. Shes very timid and scared...that's how she got her name! She has finally taken to me...follows me around all the time, loves to talk to me and loves to "help" with the laundry!

I'm curious to see how they will all react to the new baby that is due in about a month! Should be pretty interesting!

Miss Daisy Mae ~ she is our 8 y/o yellow lab with the sweetest, most gentle demeanor ever! My boys love her!! Unfortunately, she has lupus and 2 torn ACL's so she is on meds and her activity is limited.
We also have 3 cats. Blackie, Precious and Sammy. The cats are all very independant and very low maintenance.
We have some 2-legged pets too :) 8 chickens! Dixie, Star, Jane, Mary, Pure, Shadow, Midnight and Alice. You'd be surprised at how much they love to follow the boys around when they are outside.
My 7 y/o son has 5 or 6 frogs right now and 10 polliwogs. We also have 2 fish ~ Tony Stark and Bumblebee.
We recently had to get rid of our 2 fainting goats, but they went to a great home and the little girls there adore them!
We love our pets :) and we'd have more but Dad has put his foot down!
