Hi,
I had my second son seven months ago. My oldest son is five. I had a pretty regular cycle after he was born, I was not on birth control. But, after I had my second, I have had nothing but problems. I bleed heavily, several times per month. I have severe cramping and pain. I am fatigued, I think because loss of so much blood. I just started 2 weeks ago on a different birth control, then started bleeding a couple days ago again, after hust having a period 2 weeks ago. My doctor does not seem to be taking me serious. I have been in to see him several times and he seems to kind of blow me off. Does anyone have any advice? I would appreciate it, to hear if other women have went through this!
Thanks

Hi G.~
Same thing happened here, I bled so much I would get anemic every month. Turned out the the bc pill caused a fibroid tumor to develop and was the culprit of my problems. Sadly, it was only discovered after I got pregnant accidentally when my son was 8 months old (due to the irregular periods) and the tumor caused a miscarriage. I had to have the tumor surgically removed abdominally, but as soon as I stopped the oral bc pills, the tumor stopped growing. Don't let your doc blow you off...its their JOB to treat your medical issues. If need be, find another doc with no regrets!

HI G.,
I was getting irregular periods too. It started when I was about 32. They just seemed to last forever! 2-3 weeks with alot of spotting. I didn't take any vitamins or added nutrients at the time. I thought everything I needed was in the foods I eat. Not so! I learned this from a company I started working for. Now I take a Whole concentrated all food based vitamin and it's changed everything. The way I feel, my periods are back to normal. So, I'm thinking maybe the same for you? Get some good nutrition in your body and I bet you will see a difference. Here is the website where I order my vitamin from - check it out if you get a chance. www.itworks.net/bodyapplicator

Take care, C.

Go see a woman doctor.

Hi G.,
Seriously I've had the same problem in the past. I was low in iron so I was more then tired, I would come home and sleep for 3 hours. There were severe cramps, back pain. My doctor put me on iron 3x a day and gave me something for the pain, I was also put on b.c for three months at a time. Because just when it seemed to be working I would stop and well....
Mine was attributed to stress. My husband is military and I have two teenage boys, I work 40+ hours a week.
You need to find a different doctor and I'm serious about making sure its a woman. Every male OBGYN I've gone to would pat me on the head and tell me to be quiet. When you have had endometriosis for several years you tend to get cranky when they do that. Endo. might be another thing you need to check into.

Good luck and God Bless
W.

I went through irregular periods after my second also. I was on a pill that was all the same level of hormones all month and would also bleed for two weeks and than off two weeks than bleed another two weeks. The dr wasn't concerned but I was very annoyed by it. After many different types of pils, I ended up having to be on Orthotricylen Lo to get my periods correct.

I would find a new ob/gyn immediately. I had the same problems but my doctor took my concerns very seriously, ran tests and it turned out I had a polyp on my uterine wall. I had a d&c to remove it. Never allow a doctor to blow you off - you have to be your own health advocate - find an ob/gyn that will listen and run tests.

Hope this helps!

G.,
I would be looking for a second opinion. It is your body and your health. If your not happy or comfortable with how your doctor is treating your problem, by all means, go somewhere else. You can always go back to your doctor, but you need some peace of mind. Do it for your kids sake.
