Irregular Periods

In Jan. of this year, I saw my period twice and then I had a 28 day cycle with mild bleeding (I normally am a heavy bleeder) and now 5 1/2 weeks later I've had no period. I do not take birth control of any sort and am allergic to latex (which means condoms are out of the question). I've been pondering on two possibilities: pregnancy or thyroid issues; can you give me any help?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for your responses; believe it or not.......the only thing that is different is that I am pregnant; will now if it is viable in another week; too early to tell.

You might try a holistic therapy called Maya Abdominal Massage. Visit amazingbirths.com or redtentwellness.com for more information. Many women find improvements in their cycles after therapy. Good luck!

It is very possible that you are starting primenopause! (Early menoupause) I did when I was in my late 30's!!!! Are you having any other symptoms?

Reading all you stated about the steroids, antibotics and allergy stuff they gave you, you are probably also dealing with an overload of metal and other toxins!!!!! You should visit a Holistic minded MD immediately! Also begin learning about DETOXING your system and CHANGE THE WAY YOU EAT! Raw foods and grains should be eaten more than anything else you eat! Change the internal environment of your body ASAP so you will not be looking at the development of Cancer! Reduce or stop sugar and eliminate ALL DYES, PRESERVATIVES, HIGH FRUITOSE CORN SYRUP, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED OILS, CHEMICALS-HOUSEHOLD AND COSMETICS, and start JUICING! Carrots, beets, spinach, kale, cabbage, etc.... EVERYDAY! Also take a good fish or Omega oil, and Calcium w/Magneseum. BUT do your homework first to make sure your calcium is ABSORBABLE! Look for liquid if possible from WholeFoods! Good Luck and do not let this go unchecked for too much longer.

Thought about having the mess removed? Check out this site for allergies. www.naet.com

I., I agree with Marilyn. The cycle of medications and poor feeding habits may be making your body very toxic.
Perhaps you ought to go again and be screened for any possible recurrences or problems under way. But then, do yourself a favor and seek the help of an alternative physician who can help you find ways to detoxify your body and repelnish what you've lost. Antibiotics and pain medications in large amounts reak havoc on a body, but with a consistent wholistic approach, you can gain your health back.
Whatever is worng with your body now, there are better ways to deal with improving health than cutting, burning and poisoning.
You are only 37 years old, you can get better, much better.
Blessings.

Do a home pregnancy test you can get in any pharmacy or even grocery store. They are very accurate! In any case I would suggest that you see a doctor, preferably a gynecologist, who would be able to answer your questions. It could be due to any of the things you mentioned plus a few other things. I would not trust my health to this website; ask an expert!

HEMP is probably the healthiest thing to eat to keep the female organs healthy. You can buy either supplements, seeds, or oil. The oil you can put over salad, seeds as well...they are also good in yogurt. Whole Foods sells it...or you can find it online I am sure.

Fatty foods and caffeine can cause cysts or fatty tumors in the breasts and ovaries. Try to limit to 2 cups of coffee a day and keep fats to a bare minimum. Good Luck:)

I am not giving you any advice I haven't taken myself. I also had irregular periods and cystic breasts and tumors or cysts in my ovaries. I changed my lifestyle; eating habits and got HAPPY and it all changed. My periods were like clockwork and cysts miraculously disappeared.

I., I think you should go to your gynecologist to rule out any issues like fibroids etc. (or pregnancy!)
If everything checks out OK, you might want to consider a product like Estroven. I started having very heavy periods after my son was born (I was 40) and I found that Estroven helped alleviate some of the symptoms. It is a soy-based tablet with herbs that provides plant estrogens to your body.
It could be that you are peri-menopausal.
Not sure about the thyroid link. I didn't know that thyroid problems could cause irregularity in periods..

I tend to lean toward natural remedies and recommend Dr Drew Peterson in Ft Pierce. He's an acupuncturist and chiropractor and he may be able to help your body help itself. His # is 772-465-well. He's in Vero MWF and Ft Pierce TTH. He also has Saturday hours when needed, but I think that's in Vero too.
He helped me with several issues- post partum depression, vertigo, general wellness. He's a little different if you compare him to GP-type doctors, but I really like him.

Hi I.,
If the doctor has ruled out any underlying problems, then it's time to take a pro-active approach to your healthcare.

We all have busy, active lives and sometimes that means we don't eat well, we live with too much stress, we don't take time to relax and we don't get a good night's sleep. To make matters worse, the food we eat doesn't have the nutrients it used to have - even 20 or 30 years ago. And if you're eating lots of processed food and going to fast food restaurants, you may be compounding the problem.

Here's a link to an audio that may give you some ideas to help yourself: www.HealthShak.com . The topic is A Healthy Menopause, but the information is for women of all ages.

Good luck finding a solution. If I can help you in any way, please let me know.

I was just having a similar problem. Period every 2 weeks for the last 2 months. My problem was that I recently had a large weight loss. Dr. said that your fat cells carry estrogen and because I had lost so many fat cells I kind of through my body off balance. Just ended my 1st back to normal cycle.

You should really see your ob gyn or do a home pregnancy test. There is a thrid option that comes to my mind and that is you may have an hormone inbalance. There are over 180 symtoms of low progesterone in woman and even men. I am all to familar with this problem and I personally use a Natural Balancing Cream from plants called Phytoprolief. It's a cream and really makes me feel like myself. I have recommended to many people and have had wonderful success with this. Dr Deanna Osborne a ob gyn says it's the best self treatment a woman can do for herself. Go to www.J..myarbonne.com clcik shop online click Natural Balancing Cream and read more about it.
