I have an 16 yr old daughter thats totally bored this summer. So far shes been enjoying t.v and sleep, so I thought it would be great to send her off to camp for a week to meet new friends, go horseback riding, swim, kayak and much more. I've learned it could be a bit pricey so if you have any recommendations please respond before summer ends. Thanks All

Does the YMCA in your area still do teen camps? Unfortunately, all our teen camps were cut this year, but over the years my kids have attended some great Y camps.

I know you asked about camps. What about finding a volunteer activity for your daughter to do? What is she interested in? Does she like preschoolers- she could volunteer at a preschool. Go to volunteer.org? for the opportunities. At least, she would be helping others and getting out of the house at the same time.

Have you tried to CYO camp? you neednt be religious to attend and they don't run the camp as such.. I went a few times when younger and loved it. I believe it's up in Occidental , CA.. check it out.
