Okay moms, I need some serious help with my shower. It is lime stone. When we built our house we really put a lot into the shower. Unfortunately we did not seal it which I believe is the root of our problems. I can not get this shower clean no matter what I try. I have thought about buying a steamer to clean with but I don't know which one to get. Does anyone have any ideas about steamers or some kind of cleaning solution to try on this shower.

I think you are correct that your problems start with not sealing the limestone. To get the best result, the stone would have to be professionally cleaned and then sealed. They would use a series of grinding to bring the stone to a fresh condition then polish it and seal it. Natural stone is like a sponge that soaks up everything and it is very hard to remove dirt from it's pores. You could try calling tile suppliers in your area for suggestions on cleaners to try or a company to clean and seal your shower. THe good news it that once it is sealed, it will be easier to maintain. Good luck.

I would call the (a) supplier of the limestone to figure out the best & safest way to clean it. You would not want to ruin you stone work.

I've had problems in my shower...which is tile. The guy at Lowe's suggested Tilex Mildew Root. He said it works on everything in the shower and removes all kinds of stains. I tried it in my shower and it was fantastic. I didn't have to brush or wipe. I sprayed it on, left it, and then rinsed it off. I would check first to see if it's safe on limestone. Then get it sealed after you clean it. Good luck!

staright bleach. Put some in a squirt bottle and let set for just a bit... it should work. I have also heard, CLR is great for that. No personal experience with that. Good luck!

Have you tried Bleach, Limeaway, Vinegar and some of the other store cleaners, before buying a steamer? If so, I am not sure what advice I could give you at this time.

I will call my grandparents and ask around for more information.... Stay Tunned.
