Games for adults...got any ideas??? Mostly what I want are games you can do with pencil and paper...not too much room for standup games..(not scrambled words)???

We playeed Apples to Apples one year at a New Years Eve party. We got it a few years ago but haven't played. I remember it being a lot of fun though!!

Catchphrase gets hilarious with a little alcohol thrown in there.. we did it for my bridal shower and I laughed SO hard I was crying the whole time. It's amazing what people will come up with/associate with certain words! Totally a laugh.

I agree with Catchphrase. We play it at my SIL's house and always have a great time.

A good one we've played is that you get a tray (a serving tray) and put 15-20 objects on it. You can put Christmas or Holiday type items like a small christmas ornament, light bulb from tree lights, maybe a matchbook, pencil just random stuff. Then everyone gets 30 seconds to look at the tray, then you cover the tray (or put it out of sight) and everyone writes down as many things as they can remember. The person with the most wins a prize.

Here are a few web sites that may help too:

We have a white board that we use to play pictionary. We throw the rules out. Just divide into 2 teams and try to guess what the other team is drawing within 1 minute or the other team gets a chance to guess. No board or dice or whatever. ONly one person needs to stand up and we've played it around the kitchen table dragging a few folding chairs in or in the living room putting the white board up against the tv.
otherwise, put out some playing cards, dice, dominoes, and uno cards. suggest spades - everyone likes spades

Apples to Apples is my favorite grown-up game for what you are describing. (Just make sure to get the adult version, not the kids one).
