If You Got Snow, How Did You Spend Your Morning?

I was dreading being trapped inside with a very active 22-month-old but was pleasantly surprised at how quick the time flew! First we played "mixing," a game where she mixes flour and water while I do dishes. Then we colored, watched Elmo and expanded the big indoor tunnel. Next, upstairs with two of her stuffed animals to build towers with blocks. Then a quick snack and we suited up for the snow. I gave her a broom to "help clean the car off," and we went for a long walk. Now it's naptime. Yay.

So how did you and your lil' ones spend your mornings.

What can I do next?

Well, snow days mean video game days mixed with snow play! I might even go to the store and buy a frozen pizza w/breadsticks for dinner tonight as a special "snowed in" thing. We are not by any means snowed in, but it's fun to have special things we do when things happen, like rainy days are Chinese or Pizza nights (home cooked or ordered), black outs we have a picnic in the living room, snow days are unlimited video games/movies and if we feel like playing in it we will. Yesterday we were at his friends house playing all day, we literally got there a few min before it began snowing and left just before it was to get really bad! And YEAH for living in a townhouse where the HOA pays to have the snow removed for us! So nice to wake up to a shoveled walkway and a clear parking center.

Stacking firewood (now that we FINALLY got snow we bought a chord!) and playing in the snow, followed by Hot Chocolate and building a roaring fire!

I LOVE winter and the snow!

After breakfast, the kids suited up and helped me remove the snow that drifted over the sidewalks from last night. Played a little bit more, thankfully after an hour total they were ready to come in.

Then they took a bath and played while they warmed up.

They played mario on the wii while I made lunch. Then we picked up the house and they are playing mario again.

Since I don't see them taking a nap... I think I'm going to let them play wii for a bit longer with my oldest ( he is being so patient helping the 3&4yr old "play") while I lay down for one.

We got about 9 inches last night, so hubby and I got up at 6, cleared the snow together while our 3 kids were still asleep, and then hubby showered & went to work. I made myself scrambled eggs & coffee and cleaned the kitchen. Our kids woke around 8 (this is late for them--they usually are up by 6:45).

If my youngest was a bit older (a walker), I'd take them out in the snow. Instead, I brought in some big tubs of snow & put it into our empty hot tub (hasn't actually held water in 6 yrs), and let the kids play in the snow, from the warmth of our house :)

About to feed them lunch & then praying all 3 will nap today!

We shoveled snow, threw snowballs and went sledding with friends. Then we headed to the rink for 2 hours of hockey playing.
