I don't know for sure what will work for you. I know that I've tried Opcon-A and it has worked for me. But I'm not on prescription eye drops and I don't wear contacts. The reason I don't wear contacts is because one of my eye doctors told me that the problem with contacts is they hold the allergens against your eye which can make the problems worse

For my allergies, I've used Claritin, Benadryl, Allegra, and a few other different medications at different times. I've had allergies since I was a baby. Usually, the oral medications take care of most of my symptoms. As I mentioned above, on the few occasions they didn't, I tried Opcon-A and that worked for me.

Good luck. I hope you find something that works for you.

What about using the saline solution you use with your contacts...That is what I used to use when I wore contacts, it seemed to help with red-eye, but I never had allergies bad enough to have that from those, but in general I had found that the saline was better than the eye drops. Hope that helps some.

Well, here's the bad news. If the drops you already have don't get the red out, then drops won't get the red out. In fact, you probably shouldn't be using drops on a daily basis anyway, they tend to stop working after a while. Especially the kind for redness, which will, in fact, make your eyes redder if you use them too long. Talk to your eye doctor if they're really red (like, other people notice and comment), there may be something else going on.

I also find, as a fellow eye allergy sufferer, that changing pairs of contact lenses more frequently (if you wear disposables) helps a lot. Rinsing your eyes with saline or rewetting drops as often as you want helps too.

I would recommend stopping ALL of your eyedrops and trying an antihistamine like Claritin or Allegra (you'll need a prescription for Allegra). They should help keep your eye itching and redness under control and plus they'll keep the sneezing and runny nose down that everyone with allergies get in the spring.
