Oh my god I am sitting here, the windows are open, just kicked Genna to the curb! The birds are chirping!! The air is heavy and it is going to be a beautiful day!

I don't want to go to work!!! The freaking tomb with a few windows that don't open!!!

Anyone else want to play hooky today?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I compromised with my soul and I am working a half day. :)

Days like this are what I miss the most from when I was a stay at home. To hell with the house the park is calling us! O well, half day works, I will still be home in time to garden before the kids get home. :)

Riley, when I was back in school my professors would tell me I need to become a professor because I am so good with the other students. I asked do you really think they would have room for a professor that has classes outside every time the weather is nice? I think they thought I was joking. :p

Well, let's see, ah (contented sigh), since I've dropped the kids off, I put a pork shoulder in the oven for pulled pork sandwiches for dinner, took the dogs out a zillion times, two loads of laundry, ran the dishwasher, too much time on MMP, made the man his breakfast.....

Soon we will take the dogs for a lovely walk together, then perhaps a nap or sex, or sex and nap. Perhaps some raking in the yard, wash the car maybe.....more too much MMP, more sex and napping....have to pick up kids at school about 2:30.

Yeah, being a housewife totally sucks.

Sounds good until someone asks the inevitable question, But What Do You DO All Day. Which makes me feel lazy and unproductive and guilty for my choices....

Sometimes, I think it would be really NICE to go to work. But no, you're right. Not today.

:(

We had our deck doors open during breakfast this morning. So jealous of my husband who is transitioning jobs this week and as result he get the rest of the week off. He gets to go camping at Dinosaur Valley with the boys and I get to be in a windowless office:(

I remember those days when I worked for corporate America and wished I could stay home but with 3 kids I had to go and pay the bills. Now I take off anytime I want to or go outside for walks or just sit and relax since I work from home and only answer to myself. I feel your pain.

I work from home and STILL want to ditch when the weather is good - lol - I will make a very big effort today to at least get out and take a walk - try to do the same at your lunch break - at least you'll get a chance to suck in some of that wonderful sun! :-)

Summer is right around the corner...I can feel it

Ok I will be the adult here that says: "I enjoy food, clothing, and shelter." so I will happily go off to work and be productive! After work will be another story. I am home by 4 and tonight I have my granddaughters to myself! We are going to play outside until we can't see or when my daughter picks them up!!!.

We like tents, taking walks to pick flowers, collect magic rocks, pets, riding bikes, taking a ride in the wagon and generally playing outside!

When I was in high school, I saw how unhappy working people were when they HAD to go to work. Especially some of my treachers. So I decided that what ever job I got, it would have early retirement and good benefits. When I graduated and was in college, I figured out I didn't like working weekends and holidays so I chose jobs that had Saturday, Sunday and holidays off.

Retirement is everything I dreamed it would be, except the money. And the money would have been great too if the company I chose to work for hadn't lied to me about retirement. Then I lost a lot of money in post retirement investments.

I'm happier retired than I ever was at work. I had a number of good times at work, but the good times with my wife and kids and grandkids beats my best days at work.

For those of you that don't like to work and wish you were on perpetual vacation, save and invest ! ! !

Good luck to you and yours.

Will you hate me when I say part of my job is to play outside!? :) I'm not saying doing daycare is easy, not by a long shot, BUT, it does have a lot of perks!!! :)

And I love the people I work w/ (the kids!) and I work at my favorite place in the world (my house!)

Enjoy your half day...gardening sounds great...I'm excited to hang the comforters on the clothes line today!

Ughhh - I think we all feel your pain. I opened the windows this morning and really enjoyed my drive to work instead of playing hooky. My job becomes more unpleasanat and difficult as the days go by. More demanding clients, less income, health care reform and intrusion of more and more government regulations. I do more work for my client than every before and get paid less than ever. We have a newish presidnet who is determined to make our life miserable by demanind that we all act as if we want to rise through the ranks to be executives. Been t hre done that when I was younger. Now I just want to go to work, do my job and go home to those who really matter in my life. Everything costs so much more than it used to. My teens push my patience ot the edge, my elderly mom is cranky & difficult - seems that most days I am just moving through the neccessary activities of the day.

BUT - we are alive to appreciate the gorgeous weather. We live in the best country in the world. We have so much in comparison to 2/3 of the rest of the world. Our kids, while trying our patience are healthy and well (aside from stuff they may have at the moment). We can work on the things that need improvement and we have a job that provides food and shelter for our families.

So it's really all about being thankful for the many blessing that we have. It helps turn the yuck of the day around. ;o) Whisper a prayer of thanksgiving to God and you will feel a shift in your perspective.

May God richly bless you today.

ROFL... Good for you!!!

Something funny... one of the things I'm being "chewed out for" in my divorce is the HOURS I spend outside with my laptop (studying for my school, researching and making lesson plans for my son's school, reading, etc.). What? I work from home! Am I seriously supposed to stay cooped up indoors?!?

Well, I teach at a university, so I'm on spring break. I had grandiose ideas of throwing open the windows and really cleaning the house. Instead, I'm sitting on the couch with a bad cold and two sick boys who were supposed to be in school.

Yesterday, before I got sick, I whined to my husband that I couldn't wait to go back to work! Now I'm glad I don't have to go.

So, anyone have ideas for what the three of us could do besides watch lots of tv?

ME TOO!!! I hate being inside on days like today. But I have to work and my accounting homework is killer this week, so I'll be stuck inside doing that when I get home :(.

And since my truck is parked because of the high gas prices and I'm driving the new car, I dont even get a sunroof when I get off of work...but that's okay - I'm counting down my last hour now!
