Ok so i am trying to figure out which dyson to get.

There are so many to choose from.

I want one that can go on all types of floors and one that will make my carpet look almost new.

I have an almost 2 year old who always gets food on the carpet and makes a mess.......

Some i have looked at

We have the Dyson DC14, it's good on all floors. I love it because it picks up dog hair and dust really well, and it leaves the carpet looking really nice.

I just bought the big purple Dc17 5 days ago. Love it! My carpets look like they were prof. cleaned. I have a huge dog that sheds like crazy and a toddler. After using it on the carpets for the first time you would have thought I had never vacuumed in my life. YUCK! My previous vac is a great one, but apparently it did not get a lot of dust and dog hair out. It was well worth the money. The down fall I have a lot of tile walk areas and it does not work on the tile. I still use my old vac for that as it does a great job. I was disappointed at first that I would have to use two vac's, but after I saw the amazing job the Dyson did on my carpets I am perfectly happy using both.

I have one(the regular yellow one) that I bought almost 5yrs ago and I like it. I had a vacuum repair man tell me that the ball ones are always being brought in for repair.

Wow! Didn't know there were so many different models right now! I bought mine 4 years ago from Sam's and it has been great! I use it on hard floors and carpet and it always does such a great job! I am sure any one you buy will be great. I am always amazed at what mine sucks up! I usually have to empty it every week! It is a great brand and I am sure whatever model you buy will be fine!

i bought mine about a year ago. They are GREAT vaccumes, but I've haven't heard great stuff about the ball ones. I bought the DC 17 animal one. LOVE IT!! search the web for the best prices and then print it out and take it to bed, bath and byond. They'll match the price. also wait for the 10% off too. :) good luck!!

I have the DC18 slim one. I chose it because it was less expensive and lighter weight. I have a large home but the smaller size still doesn't bother me; actually it's easier to get up and down the stairs with it. It is really easy to maneuver and get up under my coffee tables and other furniture.

It works great as far as suction and I use it on carpet, hardwood, and tile. You can turn the brush off so you don't scratch the hard surfaces. I've only had it about 3 months so I can't say anything about longevity.

BestBuy usually has cheaper prices online so I asked at the store why it was cheaper on their website and they said they would match it...saved about $80 this way!

DC17. Don't get it confused with the basic purple one. DC17 is the one. Look at the reviews. Most of the vacs have problems except for this one. Bed, Bath & Beyond will let you use a 20% off coupon, but otherwise they never go on sale anywhere. Oh, and get a second lifetime filter. They take days to dry when you wash them! :)
