My husband and I are expecting our first child in Oct. I will need child care for him starting in Jan. and am really torn between an in home option or putting him in a day care. We live in Plano off Plano Pkwy and Alma and work close to Willowbend Mall. If anyone has an individual that they would recommend or a day care it would be a great help. I am really at a lost with all the options that are out there.

There is two websites that will help. The first is a childcare association, it is http://www.pickofnorthtexas.com. I belong to this association and there is several really good providers. The other is the State's, http://www.dfps.state.tx.us. This gives you profiles and reports if the state goes out and inspects them. I live in Allen but I would be glad to answer any questions that you might have. You are looking early. Good Luck!

Check out American Montessori on Plano Parkway. I have my daughter there and really like it. Also, the Seay Center at Presby. Plano. We used the center when my daughter first went to daycare. I moved her when she became a toddler but loved the infant teachers!

I have posted several times about my child care provider she is an amazing with children and my daughter who is about to turn two has been with her since she was 12 weeks. She is at Parker & Custer. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me, I have put her contact information at the bottom. Good Luck on the search I know how hard it can be to choose someone else to look after your heart :)

My kids go to Preston Park Montessor Academy, located at Preston and Ohio (behind the 24 hour fitness). They've only been there a few weeks, but have really loved it so far - they're 3 and 10. The teachers truly care about the kids, and are always loving on the babies when we get there.

Hello!

I live just south of you and know exactly what you are going through right now!

I visited several day cares in the surrounding area (and there are a lot of them) and HANDS DOWN would steer you towards taking the time to make an appointment with Julie Grebe at Parker Chase. The school is located just off Hebron and Marsh Ridge. The tuition is competitive, operating hours are great, but most importantly- the caretakers are dedicated and amazing.

Every single staff that my daughter has been cared for by has been genuine and they love what they do there. What set this school apart from the rest for me personally, was the tenure of the staff. Out of all the day cares I visited, Parker Chase had the staff with the most longevity. Which to me speaks volumes about the management and overall environment.

I apologize for the long winded response, but I was so overwhelmed when I was researching day cares in the vicinity and other mamas from here steered me to P.C. and I am still grateful to this day for their guidance.

Best of luck on your journey!

It's a little out of your way, but there's a new montessori school opening this fall at Campbell and 190. I love the director from a previous school and am sure this school will be awesome! Their website is www.ncma.us/, and you can call or email for information.

P.S. - The infant teacher is moving from the previous school as well, and she's incredible. I know several people are following her from her current school.

I highly recommend a home nanny who will help out and do other things. We LOVE ours that we have had for almost two years & found her off of nannies4hire.com. They have full profile information, references, etc and do multiple background checks. Our will be looking for another position because my two year old will be going to a small Christian school with the change in my work hours.
