We are trying a babysitter this year and I would only need her/him for 4 hours a day m-f. How much should I pay per hour? I have some requesting 15.00 an hour and that is more then I make!! Besides my kids are 10 and 11 so they can pretty much take care of themselves. I also would not expect her to do any cleaning or field trips. Thank you for your feedback!!!

I think $5-6 per hour is good for the age of your children. They are basically just going to be "supervising" your kids since they are older.

Make sure when you are requesting this service that you are not looking for a nanny but sometime to help watch your kids, make lunch, play a game, or take them outside or maybe to the pool. You are looking for more of a babysitter and I would say since your kids are older and really only need a person to keep them in line, that I would say $7-$9 is enough.

I'd say $5 which would include meals and dishes. At 10-11 you don't have to tend to their needs much. I think $5 is plenty and if you feel generous I'd say $7.

Teenagers 5-8 a hour

College Sitters 6-10 a hour

Adults, with alot of experiance 8 and up a hour

Professional Nanny 10 a hour and up

I pay my 15 year old neighbor, $20 dollars flat. Sometimes I work and am gone 9 hours, sometimes I go out with girlfriends on a Saturday night. I'm lucky though that's really cheap. But the girl loves my daughter she's said she'd even do it for free and knows I'm struggling single parent so works with me. I do things for the girl and her family all the time so it all evens out.

I babysit for a 4 and 11 year old, bring my daughter along and make 12 a hour for a certain family but I have a alot of experiance and have worked in the childcare field before. I donot clean. I make dinner and clean up after ourselves and just play most of the time. I also work until 3am most nights which is asking alot. But I'm not a teenager yapping on the phone and unexperianced.
