He doesn't notice you got your hair cut and colored?

I understand the responses so far BUT I only splurge on myself and do this about once a year and he KNEW I was getting it done today and stll never mentioned it...the color isn't that noticeable but I got about 3" cut off and still nothing..until he knew I was upset that he didn't mention it...lol!

What can I do next?

There are only two things my husband notices on his own.
If my clothes are off or on. Everything else must be brought to his attention.

I don't expect my hair to be noticed. If I like it, that's reward enough. If I want a reaction, I set him up for it "I got my hair done, looks great, huh?"

My husband would not notice 3" or a slight color change. I dont think many men would. I just had 10" cut off and went with drastic blonde and copper highlights (i am dark brown). That he noticed....lol!

You hair looks amazing! Have you lost weight? You look so fit and trim! It can't be just the haircut? Don't tell me you got it colored - girlfriend that looks like your natural color just finally came shining through!

Some people just don't notice stuff like that, and men just really don't pay attention to details like that. It's like getting upset because he didn't comment on your new shoes. Not to mention, you didn't do anything I would consider that noticeable or drastic, honestly. 3 inches is more like a trim than anything else. If you only go once a year, why not go for a change?

I wouldn't be upset, honestly. I don't think I'd really run into that issue with my DH, anyway, because he would normally know I was getting the haircut, so he'd comment on it when I got home. But, if he didn't say anything, I might probe him to comment.

Plus there's always the option that he didn't like it & would rather not say anything than lie.

You like your hair, right? Isn't that all that really matters? I definitely wouldn't pout & sulk & start a fight about it.

If it makes you feel any better, I've never had a single male (unless they're gay) comment on new haircuts including significant others, and some of them have been drastic style changes. Men don't notice. My friend gets her hair "done" all the time, new color, new style, whenever SHE mentions it, my husband goes, "Oh, you changed your hair?" like, not believing her even though he's looking at her and she's telling him, and he saw her the day before with completely different hair.

Grrrrr!
Is your dog house big enough? Your husband may get a guest, my husband.
Today I made tacos for dinner, I felt kind of bad for the simplicity of my dinner that I wanted to make it look more put together and no just a 10 min. dinner ready.
So I put the sour cream in a cute bowl, and I slice my abocado nicely in another plate, salsa in another, etc. My closes to Mexican style table clothes, you get the idea.
At the end it looked cute, my daughter (13 notice it and thank me, sniff) my husband comes to the table and starts eating, just like nothing.
I mean, I could have just put the plastic containers right there and the beans in the can, what about if we just drink from the bottle then?!!
10 min we are all done with the tacos, everybody left and I look back and my kitchen is a mess for me training to find the damn cute containers and stuff.
All for what?
Grrrr!
I am telling you, they don't get it, good thing we can come here and let it out.
So yeah, is not a big deal, I mean it could be worst, it could be raining.
But still, I need to start putting my Cosmo magazines in the bathroom again!

Well, he thought you were totally hot before you had your hair done, so he's not really looking for you to make changes so that he'll notice you more (least I don't THINK so).

I guess I'd be a little dissappointed too. But just a little.

Maybe you could let him off the hook? Just this once?

:)

Only 3 inches. I notice changes in hair most people don't, and I'm not even sure I'd notice 3 inches. That was a trim, not a cut!! I wouldn't be mad. Unless it is something totally new, I wouldn't expect him to notice. 3 inches is really nothing.

You should read the Men are From Mars...... book. They really are different ~a lot different. It's worth mentioning that the author, so I've heard, is now divorced. I guess it's one thing to know and another to do, huh? The longer he stays there, the worse it will get ~ especially since he has no idea why he is there. Really.

Depends on how long I'm in the dog house for how short I cut it!

He hates short hair on women...and anything above my shoulders I'm in the "doesn't speak to me for at least two days"....when I don't want him to talk to me I go get it cut!

If it makes you feel better.... I just cut 13" off my hair, and the guys I work with (as I am pretty much the only female in the office) totally failed to notice. :)
My husband did, but I had been talking about doing it for some time... :)

No time because men just don't notice that kind of thing.
It is too subtle for them to catch.
Very few men can. While a few do, it is rare.
Don't worry about it & I hope you love your new "do". :)

I could shave my head and he wouldn't notice. You have to let this one go.

Funny story though - my mom, who rarely does anything with her appearance, had gotten her hair cut and colored and my dad didn't notice or say anything. He did, however, remark that the female meteorologist on the evening news (he's a huge weather fan and watches several forecasts every day) had gotten a hair cut. My mother was sooooooo mad!

I don't think you should feel like a baby - of course it hurt your feelings! But the best way to get what you want is to mention it yourself. I learned this after my husband (only he was my boyfriend at the time) neglected to throw me a birthday party the weekend before my birthday, even though I had made a big deal out of his and his friends'.

Since then, I've made birthday expectations clear. I also have learned to ask for what I want from him in other ways, too. So what are the first words I say when I get my hair done? "Hey baby, do you like my hair?" No, it may not be quite as rewarding as him volunteering the words, "Honey, you look fantastic! You did something to your hair!" but I also never have to feel hurt that he didn't notice, either. Good luck.

Never! Details, details, details-most men are not detail oriented. Maybe he noticed and didn't say anything.
Women are just detail oriented-for example I know the birthdays, food allergies, heights, spouses and children of most of my husbands co-workers....he has NO clue about any of those things despite having worked with them for 2 years 4 days a week and me having only met them half a dozen times if that.

The only time my husband noticed was the time it went from mid back to chin length. And I'm still not sure it wasn't only because I called him freaking out that she'd cut too much. Men are pretty oblivious.

After 17 years of marriage, my husband has made note of my hair once.

And it was just this last month because I washed it, curled it and wore it down and not back in a pony tail like I do most days.

I would ask my girlfriends and kids if they like my hair first. And if I want my husbands compliment, I ask him for it.

If I want a compliment, I ask for it. But, I'm a Leo and he knows that stroking my ego gets him what he wants ;) I let it slide that he doesn't notice these things on his own all the time, so I just ask him how he likes it and tell him what I did instead of setting him up to fail by making it a test of his love for me. That's just silly.
