OMG...my back has been hurting so bad for the past two days. It's getting to the point where it's almost unbearable. Any way I sit, lay down or even stand up. I'm sure it's because I'm 4'11 weighing 187 and big belly in the front and it being no. 3. But how can i make myself comfortable in bed at work and simply sitting down to eat dinner? What advice do you moms have....?

What can I do next?

I did a few things...I broke down and started visiting the chiro, it helped a lot with the pain I had with sleeping at night. I stopped going (and so did the pain) after the baby was born.

I also agree with the pool. I swam for 30-45 min 3-4 times a week up until about 2 weeks before my daughter was born.

And finally, I spent the last week-two weeks on the couch, it was the most comforable for me at that point.

I was precribed massages to help with my back and hip pain. My insurance covered them and they were wonderful!
Prenatal yoga helped me two and staying active - I walked a lot and my pain got worse when I did nothing for a few days.
Good luck!

Im right there too hun!
38wks and OMG my back is always hurting. Although our body types are different my back is still killing me. i'm 5'7-5'8 191lbs on my 2nd kid :)
One thing that is AWESOME is a heating pad...or a wet, hot towel. Just put it on your back where it hurts.
Massage works too. I make my hubby give me back rubs all the time. Well not MAKE but ya know.

But I've noticed that the heat really helps loosen things up.
I for one do NOT have a professional masseuse or a chiropractor to go to. Mostly because I don't have money for that.
So heat helps me

Pillows everywhere. But what worked best was getting a massage! Heavenly. I could move around without pain afterward. It's temporary relief, but well worth it. It's been four years since I've had kids and I can still remember how great the massage felt.

massage!! But make sure its a prenatal specific, or they can throw you into early labor.

Floating in a swimming pool helped me so much. It ached again shortly after getting out, but at least for a few hours there was some relief.

I couldn't have survived either of my pregnancies without a chiropractor.
Seriously.
With my first baby, I was afraid to go, that it might hurt her. But, my back and hips were so out of alignment I could barely walk. I couldn't sit down. I couldn't lay down.
With my second baby, I didn't hesitate. They were very gentle with me and massaged me first. It was a true life saver.
You might want to consider it.
You are small framed. So am I. I'm tall, but tiny and the weight of my babies just sproinged me out.

I hope you can find something to help. Don't be afraid of a chiro.
Let us know when your baby arrives!

Have you tried tons of pillows? That is what helped me at nights. I slept on my side with a body pillow in front of me (slightly tucked under my belly really helped take the pressure off my back and then between my knees) a body pillow stuffed behind me to support my back and then my regular pillow under my head. Yes, I take up more than my half of the bed during the last couple months of my pregnancies! :)
Good luck!!
