Help! I washed my daughter's two highchair suction toys in the dishwasher, and now they don't adhere to her tray anymore...frustrating both her and I! Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the suction back, or will I be buying new toys?!? I know this isn't the most meaningful request ever posted on mamasource, but any ideas would be appreciated!!

What can I do next?

How about super gluing the toys on the high chair and then use the kitchen sink sprayer to clean it off when need be?

Welcome to the world of handwashing toys- the only true cure! ha! a few drops of bleach in a bucket and just dunk the rubber parts in dont soak- The heat in the dishwasher just destroys them- I did that with my sons favorite binky as well- the d/w just melted them and they were hard to find-

Time to say adios to the older toys and hola so some new ones...recycle the suction part, and donate the rest. Maybe you could go to a yahoo group called "freecycle" to see if anyone has some suction toys they are no longer using.

What worked for us, soaking the suction cups in extremely hot water. It made them flimsy and pliable again....therefore usable! Hope it works!

You might try a little bit of liquid soap on the suction part. Sometimes this helps things like that.

Good luck,

You could purchase new suctions cups... Or go to www.marthastewart.com and inquire. Good luck.

They probably don't stick because they are no longer round. Very sad, but the dishwasher probably warped them.

You could try getting them a little wet and see if they stick, but if that doesn't work, I think you have to say goodbye!

Not meaningful? I bet to your baby those toys are very meaningful!

Try putting a little (not too much)cooking oil on you finger & rub in on the suction cup & see if that works. It's at least worth as try.
