High Hopes?

With my first, I took a test the week before I missed my period because I knew something was up (and it was not planned at all). But then I didn't start my period the day I was supposed to. The next day I took a home pregnancy test and it was positive. We are trying for #2 and I took a home pregnancy test 5 days BEFORE my missed period and it was positive. I was so shocked because I just assumed it would be negative so soon. I took 2 more tests 2 days after and still positive. Unfortunately, I ended up having a miscarriage, but my OB said that pregnancy tests are rarely false positives even though they can happen. So you are probably pregnant. :)

Hello~ I am going to say YES! With both my girls i was just 1 or 2 days late with my period and i took pregnancy tests that both came out positive! So i don't think its too early at all. Congratulations if you are!

You are Pregnant! They measure hormone levels, so you can get false negatives because your homones are still too low when it is early, but a false positive isnt likely because there are no hormones to measure. I took mine the first day I missed my period and it showed positive in about 10 seconds flat. I wasn't even done "taking the test" yet. Congratulations!

Call your Ob tell them 2 positives on a home pregnancy test they'll send orders in today for a blood test!!!

Hey there Meg...I have taken agazillion pg tests...only 5 came out positive. Bet you can guess how many children I have! I've had them turn neg when I wasn't far enough along to show...but I've never had one show up pos...when I wasn't. I'm not trying to elevate your hopes even more. I think the best advice would be go get a dr's opinion...good luck!

As Meg says, I also only had positive when I was pregnant (the tests are quite reliable now from the very beginning).
The best way to know is to check with your doctor, but I'd say "Congratulations, mom".

I got a positive with our first 4 days before my period was due. I couldn't believe it either. I took 2 tests. Then I told my husband and he had me take 2 more of a different brand. Then we had the pregnancy test at the doctors office... he didn't believe it until the doctors test was also positive. =p

Funny I did the same thing. i took 3 home pregnancy test, i took a blood test (I requested it from the Dr) and still didn't believe I was pregnant. I think I wanted it so bad i didn't believe it, BUT my baby is 6 1/2 months old. So my only advice is to relax :) Congrats Mommy!

YES!!!!! I had not even missed my period when I got a positive result on a home pregnancy test.
I just wasn't feeling right, and my girlfriend asked, "Could you be pregnant??". Since it was a possibility...I drove straight to Walgreens and bought a 2 pack :)) Well, I was pregnant.................and........with TWINS!!!!
So, there ya go!

Well, I just had baby number 5 a few months ago and I can tell you that if you have a positive pee stick, then you are pregnant. I would wait a week and take another one and see if the line is darker. If it is then that means the HCG Hormones are multiplying which is a good sign that the pregnancy is healthy. Make sure you test at the same time every day because morning urine has the most hormones. Good luck to you!

they say that generally a home pregnancy test is only wrong if it's negative. If it's positive, congrats!

With my daughter, I found out the when I was just one day late and my boss actually found out 2 days before she was supposed to even start. So, it sounds like Congratulations are in order for you and your hubby!! But to be sure, I would check with your OBGYN.

yes, I had that happen. And it was correct, and I was having pregnancy symptoms already too.
Check with your Doctor to confirm.

There could be numerous things as 2 why u are late and why the test are positive, the tests could be false positives, not to freak u out but something could be wrong, or in most cases when a test reads earlyer than normal you could be pregers with multiples, the only true way to find out and get answers is to visit your ob/gyn, good luck!
