Help with Cat We Found

On Sunday a kitty came out our bushes and had a baby at my feet. The baby is adorable and both seem very healthy. I have papered our neighborhood with fliers. Posted a found messsage on the neighborhood board and contacted local shelter. The problem is that we cannot keep them. I have a 2 and 3 year old and am 6 months pregnant. On top of the we have a 19 year old indoor cat who would like his garage back. All of the shelters in our area put down animals that are not adopted in a certain time frame. Looking for advice, any ideas???

What can I do next?

I'm a little late responding to this but there is a rescue group that is based in Carrollton called Lexee's Legacy. They are a "for life" organization. My mom and stepdad adopted a dog from there about 6 yrs ago and had a wonderful experience. All of the animals they looked at were clean, healthy, and very well taken care of. They rescue dogs and cats. Here's their site:

Good luck!

There are several cat rescue groups in the area that do not euthanize. The cats are kept in foster homes until they are adopted. We have adopted two cats from Kool Kats Feline Rescue ###-###-####. I would give them a call. If they don't work out, look up "feline or cat rescue Dallas Fort Worth" on the internet.

Call Furever Friends. They are a non-profit agency and they foster till adopted. There are two numbers for them, not sure which is right.

817/361-7205.

817/246-9316.

Also, I'd check the bushes to see if any more kittens were dropped off before she walked into your life.

I don't know where you live but there is a no-kill animal shelter called Operation Kindness in Carrolton.

I dont know exactly how they get there animals but PetSmart has aniamls they let people adopt. Ive seen the same cats there for ever it seems so i believe they keep them until the sell but not sure...thats just a suggestion to look into. Also you could call local vets they always know of safe places to take them b/c they dont want the animal put to sleep. Well good luck.

Take a photo and post it around all the local stores in the area. If you are lucky the owners will respond, or you my recieve a call from someone who will open their home & heart to them.
