Haunted Houses for Kids

I have 2 boys 6 & 8 that would really like to go to a haunted house this year. They don't get scared by movies or TV. Granted we don't watch anything over PG-13 but they never have any problems sleeping or being scared of the dark. Can anyone recommend a good beginner haunted house in or around Plano/Dallas?

Thanks
H.

Highland Shores in Highland Village has 2 haunted houses...
Haunted Trails Jr. for kids under 12, and Haunted Trails, "recommended for kids 12 and up." (but kids under 12 can get in with a parent). I've never been, but the regular one sounds like what you're looking for. They've been doing it for years, so it's very popular:) Details at: http://www.highlandshores.net/

Castle Hills Haunted House:
I've never been to this one either (I think this is only their 2nd year), but it might be worth checking out: http://www.castlehills.com/events.php. Castle Hills on the northeast side of Carrollton.

Hall's Pumpkin Farm
I know this isn't a haunted house, but I'm planning on bringing my 10 & 12 yr olds (and some of their friends) to the Corn Maze. It covers 2 acres, and you can do it after dark, which sounds kind of spooky:) Details are here: http://familyeguide.com/Halls-Pumpkin-Farm.html.

Good luck!

Boo at the zoo is no longer anything close to spooky. It's only done on weekends during the day now. It's very disappointing! We used to love it at night!

A few ideas:
1. Story Book Ranch in Mckinney has a haunted hay ride, pumpkin patch, ride through ghost town. http://storybookranch.com/
2. Family Fright Night at Celebration Station in Mesquite,TX October 27th from 5pm-9pm Tickets on sale for $10.99.
3. Boo at the Fort Worth Zoo.

I have never been to any of these you may want to call them to find out how scary it may be. I hope you find something that works.

we went to the castle hills one last year. I have a 6 year old and that was his first haunted house. They have a beginner area and then you can either exit or continue into the next area which is scarier.

He liked it. He started out all tough and ended up with a death grip on my hand. We only did the beginner area.

For a kid's version, your best bet is to contact local elementary schools and to attend a fall festival.
