Has Anyone Ever Had This Kind of Pain???

Now this may sound a little weird, but I want to know if anyone has ever felt this. I have an aching pain that feels like muscle soreness. The only way to describe the location is to use this analogy- You know when you haven't ridden a bike in ages and you ride for a few hours on that tiny seat and the next morning you are soooo sore around your vaginal area (well more on the side of it) and toward the back near your butt. Well I feel that almost every morning and it eventually goes away during the day. I asked my dr. about it and at first she thought it was a vericose vein, but she checked and it wasn't. Then she said maybe I pulled a muscle. If that was the case wouldn't hurt all day instead of just the morning? Any ideas on what this is would be great.

What can I do next?

So you are pregnant, then? If so than, yes, I do know what you are talking about. That is the worst pain and practically only discomfort I had when I was pregnant. Suprising your doctor didn't mention it, but my doctor told me it is because the baby is slowly moving down, getting ready for delivery. But as it does so, and it doesn't hurt for all women, just as their anatomy is different, your pelvic area is widening, so it is stretching and sometimes can pinch a nerve, both of which can cause the pain. For me it was painful to sleep on my side. I had to have a pillow between my knees to help alleviate the pain. And getting up in the morning was a pain as well. But fortunately, once the baby came the pain went. Hope that helps and good luck.

Hi K. congrats on the upcoming arrival. I used to have that problem when I was pregnant with my son (7) and daughter (6) I finally figured out that it was nothing wrong with me but it was a pinched nerve due to pressure from the baby. Once the baby moved into another position the pain went away.

Hope this helps some with your pain.

Kim, I think its because you are about to have your baby. Didnt you feel this with your first baby? Well it happen to me when I was carrying my daughter. I think its because your baby is dropping and your bones are preparing to open even though you are having a c-section your body still operate like is should.

At first reading, I wasn't sure until you mentioned you have one in the oven due Sept.30. I'm just guessing here by using some logic, but this may make sense... Could be related to the one in the oven and at this stage (last 2 months of pregnancy) your body produces hormones to soften bone cartligde (particulary in that area) so that your hip bones will expand for the baby to come out. Maybe after laying verticle all night and then getting up in the morning... gravity and weight of the baby putting pressure on your pelvic bones in that area is causing the pain. Once your day gets going, it wears off. Anyway... I hope that may make some sense. Good luck on your little one on the way. I wish you a quick delivery and healthy baby!

Maybe it's reacting to pressure when you sleep, if you sleep on your side? Try sleeping with a pillow between your knees so your pelvis doesn't have so much pressure on it. HTH

Hello...so you are pregnant...with this pain? I would think your doctor would have done an ultrasound. Sounds to me like pressure on your pubic/pelvic/tailbone...I would be concerned that the baby's head is dropping down that far (if that is what is happening). Is this going to be a single birth or are there twins?
I would ask for an ultrasound right away. I assume your last check up the heartbeat, etc was fine, so don't panic. But I think you should get checked again.
I don't know why it hurts just in the morning except that maybe the baby moves from that position after you are up a while.
Let us know what you find out, ok? Best wishes, K..

Hi K.--was your first birth a C/S or vaginal birth with an episiotomy? Why is this baby a planned C/S?
Maybe there is an internal hemorrhoid causing this uncomfortable pressure. If you had an episiotomy, it could be scar tissue. Feel free to call me at my birth center with any specific questions. ###-###-####

Good luck with your next birth experience.
thanks, Kathy

Hello K.,
I know exactly what you are talking about. My youngest is 2 1/2 and I still get the pain every once in a while. I can't figure out what it is either.

God luck,
J.

Did you have an episiotomy? Sometimes my scarring aches really bad around the time of my period...but I think you are describing a pain that is worse then this...
