Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

You, too! We celebrate as a family. Hubby won't get home until after 7pm tonight so we had our V-Day dinner last night - pizza, mac and cheese, pears and ice cream for dessert! Got the kids each a few small items and then am making a nice dinner for when hubby gets home tonight.

I have been thinking of my friend who lost her husband a few wks ago.

So, I sent her a card letting her know that I have been blessed to have her as a friend for the last 20 years. It was a "Thinking of You" card...because this is not a happy day for her. So sad !!!

I hope you all had a great day...My husband gave me money and I am going to get a pocketbk with it.

While I am pretty cynical about the consumerism that goes along with the holiday, I do agree with the spirit of expressing love and caring for the good people in our lives. I went to a great yoga class as a treat for myself today, and anything like that can be a wonderful way to celebrate.

When I was single, I would buy myself flowers & treat myself to Starbucks
Sometimes my girlfriends & I would go out to dinner.
Now I get my hubby & kids things.
Decorate the house, make brownies, set out heart lanterns etc.
Email all my friends telling them that I love them & hope they have a great day!

Although I do think that we should not have to do Valentines for children who can't sign their own names and put the Valentine's Day cards in their mouths (my son's daycare!!).
