We took our daughter to a pediatric gastroenterologist and he said to give her miralax and that it's too hard to modify the diet of young and often picky eaters. Every morning since (for over 4 years) we have heated a small amount of juice, disolved 1 t of prescription miralax and had her drink it. She also does better if she has frosted mini-wheats for breakfast.
One thing the gastroenterologist said that struck home "no one should hurt when they poop" Good luck:)

Pears are good - with the skin. My sister in law swears by what we call "pear Juice Dark" which is 1/3 water, 1/3 pear juice and 1/3 prune juice.

Be sure she is drinking plenty of water. Yogurts are good because of their active cultures. Oranges have a good amount of fiber as do pears, apples, plums, etc - but you said she does well with fruits and veggies so that is great! Also, another great one is dried apricots. Its not always a favorite amoung kids, but I'd give it a try! Raisins are good too! Best wishes!

i'd ask yourself why it bothers you so much.
i think its more about your concerns on image, not her.

Water! Foods with high fiber content help too, but it's mostly water. When we are constipated it means that the intestines had to reabsorb the water from the fecal matter to perform necessary functions.

Are you kidding? She's way too young for anything like that. Sorry, just my opinion.

Add children's benefiber to her drinks twice a day. Also cut back on all dairy. Berries, beans, whole grains are all good. Cutting out the dairy should help a lot though.
