My dear friend is being sworn in today as an American citizen.....I am looking for gift ideas that are appropriate and meaningful....possible something that can be engraved with today's date......HELP....what ideas do you have????? So far I found one necklace charm at James Avery of a flag, so far that is the only thing and I am not feeling the 'love' on that yet....so---I am all ears (or eyes) :-)

What can I do next?

Many of the suggestions I was going to make were related to a flag or a charm bracelet with patriotic charms.

Maybe it's silly, but even a framed copy of the Constitution with an engraving of the date of her citizenship.

You could also do something small and then do something together on July 4th in celebration (if you don't each have other plans). It's my all-time favorite holiday.

Have you reached out to any of your congressmen? Senators/Representatives to see if they can sign a letter of congratulations to this friend?

I was going to suggest a beautiful American flag to fly on her home. I have a beautiful cotton one.. . You could have a small brass engraving place on the wooden pole.

How about an American Flag to hang outside on holidays.

Or....... a cowboy hat. What's more American than an American cowboy!?

Will she be presented with a special certificate or form at her swearing in? If so, maybe you can get her a special frame with the certificate on one side and a picture of her during her swearing in on the other. If you can't get your hands on a picture of her, maybe you can have a small American flag mounted on the other side.

Congratulations to your friend on this new milestone in her life!

Is your friend female? I think personal jewelry is a good idea. Maybe a charm bracelet with the us flag and also a charm to represent her native country and then maybe another charm to respresent your friendship?

Another neat idea would be a personalized frame for the certificate, maybe in a color or design that you know will match with her decor?

Great gift I found and gave to my best friend who becme a citizen last June; a "Deed to the USA". Found it at www.ownapieceofamerica.us (actually originally at www.veryclevergifts.com but referred me to the other site).
Perfect for new citizens. Gives them land in all 50 states being representative of their new status. Actually they get one square inch of land in each state. Like I siad, represntative of ther status.
