Hi ladies-
I just gave birth 10 days ago to my second child, and my older sister flew in for ten days to help.
She has been amazing, and leaves to go back home this week. She is a SAHM with three older children of her own so it was so great of her to take the time to be here with the rest of my family helping to take care of her kids. (back in the midwest) anyway, long story short I would like to get her a special gift as thanks for all the help, something personal and maybe something that would b a keepsake. Looking to see if any of you have a creative idea or maybe something that you gave that was wonderful.

Some great ideas already. I really like the bracelet idea.

How about a day at the spa in her hometown? Maybe for two so she can bring a friend.

Best Wishes

I'm not sure of your budget, but you could get her a piece of "mothers" jewelry (ring, bracelet, necklace...) with her own childrens' birthstones. Some other ideas...

A locket necklace with a photo of her kids on one side, your kids on the other side, and have it engraved with a nice saying like "Cousins make the best friends"

A gift certificate to a Photography studio near her to get a family portrait.

Any type of pampering gift certificate (spa pedicure, massage...) Or a hotel gift certificate for her and her honey to go away for a night and line up a sitter for her.

A spa foot bath (sold at places like bed, bath & beyond) for about $40

Or if this would fit her personality, you could have a star named after her via the International Star Registry at www.starregistry.com Starting at $50

www.etsy.com has WONDERFUL artisan crafted items.

Perhaps, a piece of jewelry, that has "world's best sister" on it or something. Lots of artists on this site has personalized jewelry for example. Or they have "photo" jewelry too. Very cute and nice. Or a handmade pillow... with a poem embroidered on it or something? This site has MANY ideas.

I have bought special mementos from this site, that were very treasured by the people I gave them to.

All the best,
Susan

maybe get a great picture of the two of them together (your sister and the baby) then get a really nice frame for it and a thank you card.

Is there something your sister may have always wanted to learn that you could treat her to a lesson on it? When my cousin came out and helped our family, as a thank you I treated her to a professional ballroom dance lesson. She was thrilled.

I am a massage therapist, so of course I always think of giving a massage as a special treat.

Best wishes,

M.

does she have a Pandora bracelet? If she does you could get her a charm with your baby's birth stone, or charms with her children's birth stones. If she doesn't already have one you can start one for her.

There's no mention if money is a consideration, so I've not taken it into thought. Tiffanys has silver lockets and you can put a picture of both your children on each side. I was given one once, and always think of this child so fondly. Congratulations on your new arrival and good luck deciding.
