My 12 yr old nephew likes novels and graphic novels. He likes sci-fi and anime. I want to get him something about $25-50 for his birthday. Any suggestions? He already has the Tin Tin set and all Harry Potter books. Non-book suggestions also appreciated.
Update: Oh, he has already read the Twilight series and Eragon series. So I am changing my title to gift suggestions instead of just books.

What can I do next?

A gift card to the book store would be a good idea. If it's at a larger book store, they have stuff other than books in there too.

I got my nephew that "would you rather" board game. I forgot the exact name, but it's basically like Apples to Apples but more like "would you rather be in a swimming pool filled with spiders or a car filled with snakes." He LOVED it!

The Narnia series is good, as is the Percy Jackson series (my boys have read it, and I'm on the last book now). Another one that is older is a series about a boy named Taran by Lloyd Alexander. The animated movie 'The Black Cauldron' is based off of one of the books in the series.

While I love the Twilight books myself, they are more geared towards girls. I am not sure I would buy those for a boy.

A great set for SciFi/Fantasy lovers is the Eragon series. (Eragon, Eldest, Brisinger). My husband is not much of a reader so he prefers young adult and loves sci fi and fantasy. They are dragon books. I am not a hundred percent certain about the age range, and not knowing your nephew's reading level and maturity level, but I think they are comparible to Harry Potters.

I find the staff at Borders Bookstores to be great at suggestions and help, if you have those in your area. I would go in and tell them what he likes and see what they suggest also.

Hi, for one thing he should not been aloud to read the stuff he's reading, i would suggest a normal and healthy out door thing's such as a skate board: etc.......or good book's such as tom sawyer and thing's of that nature, that's my suggestion. Bye and good luck. Your e-mail friend.

If he likes graphic novels I would recommend 'Elfquest' by Wedny & Richard Pini. It is an older series (came out in the 70's), but is beautifully illustrated and very engaging. Good luck!

The Earthsea series by Ursula K LeGuin is very good. Somewhat like Harry Potter but much better in my opinion.

The Left Behind series by Jerry B. Jenkins/Tim LaHaye would be a good choice for your nephew. They can be bought seperate, in double book form or in boxed sets.

You can always get him a gift card to a bookstore. He might get a kick out of picking out his own books!

Gift card! Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com, any other bookstore that might be near him or even a Visa gift card. That way he can pick out what he wants. Good luck.

If he likes any of the super hero graphic novels, I would recommend the Marvel Encyclopedia ($25 at Barnes and Noble). It's an awesome book with every super hero Marvel has ever created.
For a book series, I would suggest the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series (the first movie is out now, but there are about 5 books in the series I think). My husband really likes it, and he enjoyed reading Harry Potter and Eragon.
I also second the video games idea that someone had - Star Wars video games are good, as well as the Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones or the Legend of Zelda.

Percy Jackson and the young Olympians series by Rick Riordan (don't judge by the movie - the books are WAY better).
Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan
Diskworld series by Terry Pratchett
If you can get him the first book in each series, you'll be set for future gifts ideas for quite awhile.
