Finding a Backyard Playground

So I have been searching for a playground for our backyard. I can't spend $3000 or more on one, but I do want a nice wooden playground. Has anyone purchased one recently and had a good experience? My husband isn't the handiest man around so I need something that isn't too difficult to put together. Any help would be great!

What can I do next?

I posted a similar question not too long ago because there are just so many different play sets on the market and we received a lot of great responses. One idea was to check out Craigslist, which we did and found some nice sets at a reasonable price, however, my husband was concerned about the hardiness of the set once we took it down to transport and then reinstall at our house. Then we received a couple recommendations for the SunRay set at Costco...this is the one we opted for and it is GREAT! The set is solid, sturdy, safe and has tons for the kids (three swings, a slide, a rock wall, a rope ladder, a picinic table, sand box and a ladder with nice big steps). The one downside is that I would not consider this an easy project to install - it took my husband and his dad a full day. Below is a link (it is less if you buy in the store):

Good luck and I am sure whatever you decide the kids will enjoy it.

Walmart.com has great ones. They do not sell the same sets in the store! My friend has the cheapest one ($250, I think) and it's great!

We purchased our playset from Home Depot and it's awesome! I believe it was about $900 and it has a slide, rock wall, climbing net, forthouse, and enough room for 3 swings.

I saw a really nice one on craigslist this past weekend. Here is the link .... (This is a great site for finding stuff like that ... you can get things nearly new and cheaper)

here are 2 that I found .... let me know if you find one ;)
scroll down to see the pics when you go to the links the first one is for younger kids but the second one is so nice yet you need a big yard.

check online, craigslist, nubarter, classifieds, you want to get hopefully some recycled material that doesn't rot (and wood will splinter) even plastic that will withstand the heat and weather. Kids outgrow it fast so no need to spend so much money...perhaps the biggest expense is transporting the playground. Post a note at school or church. Someone may be moving and would love to donate the play set to you, just have to move it...good luck and may the kids enjoy the new toy!!

A.,

Check out home depot, toys r us or even costco. I have seen some really nice ones that you can put together yourself. I recently purchased one from Alpha Playgrounds formerly known as Playnation and it is really nice. I don't remember how much exactly but is roughly $2000.

Good luck.
