I am a single mom and considering putting my only daughter into a full day kindergarten at the Harvest Christian Academy; public kindergarten is only 3 hrs. The school looks really nice but I would like second and third opinions.

I do not have any experience with Harvest but have a few other ideas for you to think about. My daughter went to Glenview Christian School for PreK and they have an option of 1/2 or full day kindergarten. I love that school and it is not far from Harvest. Another option you might consider is Birdville ISD. From what I understand, a few campuses on the Keller side are open for students to transfer from outside the district. They have full day kindergarten and there is no charge for transfering in. You might want to call the administration building and ask which campuses are open.

Our grandchildren have attended HCA for the past several years and it has been a wonderful experience for them. Their parents are extremely pleased with the environment, the curriculum and all aspects of the school. I think you will be very happy at Harvest.

I go to Harvest and not involved but love going. I met a gal that was hired in the Day Care part time and they are expensive but very much into strick structure. I also have watched the children brought into the church on Sundays and they are all well behaved. I have my own Day Care at home and I would not think that this would be a good place for your daughter. I believe they are great people and your daughter could gain a lot from being in this Christian atmosphere. They certainly would give her the Christian values children need. G. W

Hi D.,
I don't have personal experience with the school because we live in Flower Mound. One of my high school friends lives over there and her 2 children go to HCA and her husband is an assistant principal and football coach. They absolutely love it and just rave about it! I think their intentions were for the girls to just go to Kinder there and now they say they would never go anywhere else! Good luck. It is so hard to make school decisions! I have Kindergartener this year too.

I'm not sure where you are, but Red Apple school in Hurst has a great Kindergarten program too. I think it gets out at 2:00 though - not quite half days - not quite full days! :)

Take care,
Krystal
